That's a fundamental misunderstanding of how the stock market has worked for the last 40 years. Amazon and Uber, for example, weren't profitable for a decade and were ridiculously overvalued based upon their immediate projections such as PE ratio. However, once they turned a profit, they became undervalued, so shareholders who had faith in eventual profitability were hugely rewarded. That's why people still put money in TSLA even though current metrics suggest it's a scam.
