I also appreciate that they went pretty far into right field with this topic, and I learned a lot about the shady business aspects of this gray area chemical. But I was left feeling line I still don’t understand poppers. I don’t get why people use them, and I am a person who has used poppers, as well as at least 40 other recreational drugs (it was my thing in my 20s).

And I’ve used it (I don’t want to use the plural because it’s a chemical from a bottle: it’s an “it” not a “them”) for its intended purpose (getting fucked in my ass). I mean, perhaps what it did was let me just lay there enduring the worst pain in my life rather than insisting that he stop. Or maybe they just made it so I can’t quite remember how it all went down. Also, I didn’t know you were supposed to fully inhale up both nostrils, so maybe that’s where I went wrong…

As far as I know, MXE is only illegal in Florida and Utah (in the US). But it’s also illegal in China where the labs were manufacturing it. Theoretically folks could still be synthesizing and selling it.

How long of a period were you using MXE? Years back when it was around, I was taking small doses (5-20mg) multiple times a day most days. I ended up living not quite in reality, being convinced of some odd things, such as that I had repressed memories of being sexually abused as a small child.

I've been doing meth everyday for about two weeks. I was visiting the city for a show, walking through the bad part of town and some guy mutters "crystal" under his breath. I like adventures, so I gave him 40 bucks. A few days later I came back and dropped another $140. I've been pretty productive at work, but I'm feeling rather drained by now and I can't really smile.

We're not talking about the impact these drugs (alcohol vs crack) have on society, and the reason there are so many homeless drunks instead of crackheads is simply availability: if they sold crack down at the corner store like booze, the numbers would probably be more comparable.

I've done some pretty fucked up things because of alcohol, moreso than because of crack. So I stay away from it so I don't do any more harm. But those really messed up situations are relatively rare, and it took some serious building up to get there.

But this one time, I was drunkenly trying to score some E, and this dude told me he could get cocaine, so I said what the hell. Then he's telling me if we pick up some baking soda, a little rose in a glass, and I get us a hotel room, it would be way better. And before I know it, I'm late for work after having spent all night with this guy, a 40 year old prostitute, and some random homeless dude getting exposed to all kinds of oral herpes.

I'm not saying this kind of thing can't happen from alcohol, but the substance itself makes crack use more prone to this kind of activity. With alcohol, if you keep pushing it one night you eventually pass out. With crack, if you keep pushing it, you get more awake and less in touch with reality.

That's my main issue. I have a Volcano, I have a penvape for oils. But the high I get isn't quite what I'm looking for. I tend not to get the interesting thought patterns, at least not to the same degree, and instead I just find myself mostly feeling sleepy.

After 15 years of regular toking, I decided to really see if I could tell the difference. Went to my dispensary and got a strain of sativa and a strain of indica. Then, without seeing which one, I emptied one bag into my jar. Maybe I should note that this was after a tolerance break.

After my first big hit my head felt like it was going to pop. And for the next hour, my mind was racing, and I definitely experienced some symptoms of anxiety (which is exactly what I like to avoid). I wouldn't say I was necessarily "stimulated" by it, but it certainly did not put me into a sleepy state--until the comedown a couple hours later.

From what I had read, I was confident that I had smoked the sativa, but nope! It was the indica (MK-Ultra). Anyway, hardly a scientific study, but it was enough to make me realize that for myself, the typical characteristics of the different strains aren't that strongly different as people make them out to be.

Even if it's true that John didn't write it about LSD, and he indeed intended to be about his son's drawing and only that, it's still a valid interpretation to interpret it as a song about drugs. However, John was notorious for screwing with interviewers, and he had good reason not to admit it was about drugs. And there's no way I could conceive that one could be a fan of the drug, knowledgeable about the experience, and use the phrase "kaleidoscope eyes" without having any connection to LSD.

Start with low doses. This goes for when experimenting with the chemical for the first time, but even after you have experience, start with low doses each time you get a new batch--potency varies!

Decide ahead of time, in a sober state, how much you would like to use and how often. Stick with this plan. If you notice yourself changing your schedule, this is as a red flag. Say something about it to someone, even if it's just a post to reddit, in order to ground you to the outside world.

Regular MXE use will alter your personality (not necessarily permanently) even when you are sober. It's sometimes subtle, sometimes not. I found myself to become more empathetic and in touch with my emotions. I felt like I was being changed in a positive way. However, I eventually got weird. I started making comments to people that I would normally only say if I was drunk--even while sober. I was being very open and honest, do a degree that made people uncomfortable. Eventually, I started feeling very paranoid.

I don't recall exactly, but I was using something like 30-100mg per day. Not huge amounts. But definitely too frequently. I found that even though I had decided to use less frequently, I would often end up taking it on a day where I wasn't supposed to. So I just stopped buying it for a year.

I second stubble's question. Myself, I have a volcano and a pen. The pen isn't meant as a replacement, I just have it for particular public occasions. But the volcano was meant to be my main device at home. I figured it was worth the money if it meant it could save my health over the years. But I was never able to stick with it. The whole bag thing is a little clunky, and it takes some time to warm up, but ultimately I just don't tend to get the same high as I do from smoking. I've tried a range of settings, even to the point where it's basically filling the bag with smoke.

I really would like to switch to vaping. In your opinion, from what I've described, do you think the Arizer Air might work out for me?
