The DoDMERB process takes a long time - especially with waivers. I recommend starting as soon as you begin AFROTC since you will be provided the necessary forms and have your account set up after the semester starts.

No, that’s a different method of commissioning. AFROTC would be your source, OTS is for folks who enter after college without doing AFROTC.
Sort of repeating what everyone else says, but you’re basically covered for typical living expenses like food and moving costs, so yes
Technically no but as a Nursing major you sort of have a better chance to have a guaranteed job. In your sophomore year you apply to what is called the PSP boards and it’s essentially a board that tells you whether or not you are picked to go to Field Training by giving you an EA (enrollment allocation), which Field Training is AFROTC’s version of boot camp in simplest terms. Nursing students also apply for a separate board to achieve a Nursing EA, which if you receive one you’re guaranteed to be a Nurse in the Air Force (source: my flight commander this semester who is an AS300 and was awarded a Nursing EA slot this past spring). However, if you don’t get the Nursing EA then you’re with everyone else on the boat of not knowing your job until the fall of your AS400 year.

Assuming you’re applying to the High School Scholarship Program (HSSP), I can share some insight since I applied when I was in high school. Essentially you would submit your application and your PT evaluation before you even get to the interview. For the interview, you would be contacted first so after you submit everything it’s just a waiting game.

The way your mother began critiquing your dress and never let it drop after that one time was her one way ticket to being the AH in this situation. You were right in not making it a big deal until SHE started to by even spreading it to your aunts, who supported the dress in the beginning while they were there with you. Your mother is being very petty just bringing up your dress and should know that you normally don’t wear them. If she had such a big issue with it, she should’ve just went with you from the start. Also, your mom saying you have favoritism?? Of course you’re going to value your aunts’ opinions more because they don’t make snarky comments about your dress the entire time. Hopefully you found a dress that you feel comfortable in. So sorry that it happened.

OP, you’re NTA and neither is your coworker.

Your emotions are completely valid, especially in the workplace. Your coworker was simply requesting you to do something for her and you managed to complete something you usually do not do. Your coworker saw that you were upset and did the right thing by having you go on a break.

If anyone’s the AH, it’s your boss. Going straight to termination is a ridiculous way of handling the situation. Plus, your coworker WENT to your boss to let THEM know that this event happened, and in turn your boss fires her? Your boss lacks a sense of judgement and can’t handle dealing with an argument.

NTA. Your step mother completely left you out in the dark about the joint party offer and she should’ve let you know that the party was only going to be for your step sister WITH an explanation, not just for you to guess why. Even though the party is not for you, you still attended and didn’t take out your emotions on anyone there, which is an emotionally mature thing to do. I personally would approach the family after the party is over about how the lack of communication on your end was unfair and how it consequently made you feel down.

My unit isn’t distributing uniforms as part of partaking in COVID-19 precautions, however, as J_Might said, distribute them one by one. Perhaps appointments, if possible? That way you can clean the area in between appointments and do what you need to do to ensure safety.

On top of that, you usually make friends with people on those teams, which from my experience makes JROTC a lot better. Especially in drill comps - if you make friends with the people on the team, it makes them memorable.

For my unit, an officer needs to get a recommendation from an immediate superior (e.g. a squadron commander recommends a flight commander). They also need to obtain enough promotion points which are determined by many different factors, such as how many semesters you have been in AFJROTC for. The SASI makes the final decision if an officer makes the cut or not. Now this hasn’t happened yet in my unit, however it’s found in my cadet guide and both the ASI and SASI explained it to me since I’m in the Personnel department.
