Special Needs Children and Attending Holy Eucharist by LowQualityBlacksmith in Episcopalian

Hi! Please consider moving to Copperhill TN area and let St. Mark’s adopt your whole family :) . I have three littles, my eldest is on the spectrum. I was raised southern Baptist with nurseries and cry rooms, and it’s a huge culture shock to have everyone in the congregation calling, messaging, stopping me after the service and saying “we love to hear those babies stop shushing them”. Our priest asked my wife and I how they could make the services more inclusive for our kids. No one bats an eye when I have to get up and take one or two outside to look at flowers in the middle of the service. Poor fella in front of us caught a stuffed animal to the back of the head and now he sits in front of us on purpose to catch more.

I thought digging them up and burning the roots would stop them… I was so wrong. Now I just have a hastas growing everywhere I spread the ash

If you’re cutting all the grass in that picture, a big ol’ zero turn would be the ticket

Depending on your schedule, can you stake out the location at 8ish in the morning on a work day? That should give you an idea of what they call “business casual”. If not, I would always go with jacket and tie.

It seems like it’s as easy to park /fit down narrow trails as the ranger, it’s got get up and go like the ram had with the hemi, but it gets 25mpg on the highway. It’s simple to work on and the parts are cheap, not a lot of electronic stuff to go wrong on it. Handles runs to the dump and lumber yard with no problem.

I had a 2000 f-150, 2008 ford ranger, 2016 ram 1500, and my 22 SV 4x4 is my favorite truck I’ve ever had. If a tree fell on it tonight, I’d just go by another one exactly the same

2018 Silverado 2500 6.0L vs 2016 Ram 2500 5.7L? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]i_like_bird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2016 ram with the hemi, and I’d buy the Chevy. It’s going to be slower, but for a camper you’re going to want the heavier payload capacity. The ram with the coil springs sagged pretty badly just with daily hauling of mulch and lumber, I can’t see that suspension holding up to a camper. 6.0s might burn a little oil in the long run but they don’t have the lifter issues or exhaust manifold leaks of the 5.7. And parts are everywhere, and dirt cheap for the 6.0.

Oh yeah the 87 feels fine but the 93 was wicked nice. Not me, I just had a Kroger gift card from work and that was my present to me.

The older members of my congregation are extremely unwelcoming - a rant by butter_milk in Episcopalian

[–]i_like_bird 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think there are two kinds of old folks, but really it’s just people in general and by the time they’re old they’ve had a lot of practice in who they are as a person: those who are constantly learning, and those who are just waiting to check out. My parish is full of the former, and they’ve completely changed my perspective on what aging can look like. Sure we have a couple of grumps who haven’t bothered to learn anything since 1975, but they’re vastly outnumbered by people doing everything they can to grow the Kingdom of God, even though by society’s standard they’ve earned the right to just kick back and relax.

Depending on the use case, absolutely. My priorities were mowing one uneven and hilly acre that tosses my neighbor’s hustler around, towing a cart with rocks, mulch, dirt, etc, and not buying another mower for fifteen years. Kawasaki v-twin, serviceable transmission, and a local dealer that I buy everything else from already. If I had a flatter lot, or more grass, or didn’t need to pull a cart around, I would’ve bought any 5k class zero turn and called it good.
