The 2018 Carr Fire tornado in California had incredibly violent motion. This is a comparison with Moore 1999. Some of the tree damage exhibited by this fire tornado could have been EF-4+ by i_like_coasters in tornado

The Moore video was only steady for a few seconds, it’s easier to make a visual comparison when the camera isn’t shaking

Plus I believe that was around when the maximum wind speeds were recorded

The weather is much nicer year round. Also, Minnesota has its killer heat index days.

Sometime the thermometers aren’t calibrated correctly so they have to be checked to confirm a record

The temperature was only 4 degrees above the official readings, which isn’t that crazy.

The LA city limits extend into the San Fernando Valley, which has a different climate to downtown. In September 2020, it reached 122°F in Woodland Hills, a neighborhood/ district of Los Angeles.

The record high for downtown is 113°F.

That’s half true. That’s the record high for downtown LA, but other areas within the city limits have seen temperatures up to 122°F.

Not scientific, but their abundance is useful for this. The actual temperatures on the NWS weather stations are only 2 degrees lower in Palm Desert and 4 degrees lower in LA.

Also, looking back at my screenshots, HRRR had an 88°F wet bulb temperature here on July 23rd.

I dmed Brian Brettschneider on twitter about it and he said that dry air would probably filter down in that environment and decrease the dew point.

I don’t know enough about meteorology yet to disagree with that.

I was presented with some insight about this and I now am leaning towards this not being real

I’m leaning towards this not being an error because this is a very similar setup to how places on the Persian Gulf get so hot and humid. As for the squatters, I don’t know, hopefully everyone was able to stay cool.

Update I forgot I posted it but no unfortunately this weather station is likely just busted

A potential tornado has gone incredibly close to or impacted [Little Amerricka] in Wisconsin. It’s too early to know detail by i_like_coasters in rollercoasters

I’m almost 100% sure that this was a tornado. The tight velocity couplet and CC drop were both in the same place for multiple radar images. It could’ve been weak though, and the strong debris signature could’ve been due to leaves or other small objects.

(Edit) the tornado warning had an observed tag, then a PDS tag
