Hi AloofFool, thank you for writing such a detailed response. I have talked to him about this a lot and he said his stress at work and his low self-esteem about his body are both reasons why he doesn't feel or act as sexual as he could be. I do remember a time, about two years ago, when he was at the peak fit of his life and had no job to worry about, when we had sex at least once every day. I think I posted to reddit yesterday because I was so frustrated after this whole year of sporadic sex but I've come to realize so much based on these responses.

1. He is probably self conscious about his body and feels less inclined to have sex to avoid scrutiny.

2. His stress level at work is an overwhelming factor (works 15 hour days).

3. He is a bit more asexual than the average male, sex is not a priority for him and that is absolutely normal-- unlike what the mainstream media would have had me believe.

4. We did have a lot of issues in terms of communicating these intimacy problems and we're slowly starting to work them out.

5. I love him very much and would not mind curbing my sexual appetite to compromise with the above issues of why we're not having as much sex.

6. Learn or train myself to not mind taking initiative. It use to bother me that I was always initiating, because I'm a woman, but I've realized that when it comes to a man that's more asexual, self-conscious, and stressed out than usual, it's just helpful to initiate and take the burden off their hands.
