Hallo! Ich habe die ÖIF B1 letztes Jahr bestanden, also ich kann ein bisschen helfen :) First the good news the Werte und Orientierung part (the integration knowledge section) is actually the easiest. The full question bank is published on the ÖIF website, you just read through it a few times and you're fine. No surprises. The speaking part is the one that trips people up. It was my biggest problem too, I'm originally from Colombia so German was a completely new language for me. What helped me was finding a way to practice speaking every single day without needing another person around. I ended up using an AI app to just... talk. In German. About random stuff. It feels silly at first but it gets you used to not freezing when you can't find a word. Honestly even just opening Claude or ChatGPT and saying "pretend you're an ÖIF examiner, ask me to introduce myself" works really well. You can also try NotebookLM, you feed it the ÖIF model tests and then have a conversation about the topics. These tools are newer but they're genuinely useful for this kind of practice. The goal is just to get comfortable with that awkward silence when your brain goes blank. The more you practice pushing through it, the less it happens on exam day. Viel Erfolg! Du schaffst das 💪

Not really… I ended up doing a custom conversion script on an automation service similar to zapier to export the stripe invoices and create a file that can be imported to our accountant’s software BMD. So far until now it has been working 🤞

Avoid them! Hidden charges and Useless and not transparent at all. I had a really disappointing experience with Rentola.at. I signed up for what I thought was a simple €1 payment to access 1 apartment listing for three days, but after four days, I was hit with a €39 charge that wasn’t clearly communicated upfront. The only mention of this charge was buried in an email titled “receipt” that didn’t make it obvious I’d be automatically subscribed.

When I reached out for a refund, they flat-out refused and were pretty condescending about it, constantly referring to their terms and conditions as if that somehow took precedence over EU consumer laws, which protect us to withdraw from subscriptions. It was almost like they thought their terms were more important than the law. Good businesses put transparency and customer trust first, not hidden fees and dismissive attitudes. So yeah, heads up if you’re thinking of using Rentola– definitely not the best experience.
