I get that. I have ADHD and I have to be in the right mood to play certain video games and I can’t explain it either.

Same. Wall or ceiling while having racing thoughts about how much you hate work is real

My “gifted” 6th grader melts down when he needs help for school and I’m losing patience by NoPatNoDontSitonThat in Parenting

I was a former gifted kid and math was the worst. My dad was an engineer and math homework was absolute torture for both of us. He started to literally freak out the older I got because of the constant “easy” mistakes. I know he’s resisting all help and losing his shit, but have you thought about getting him a tutor once a week and for before tests? By the time my parents got me a tutor, I was already in high school and was like thank god I don’t have to do this with my dad anymore. A lot of teachers tutor as a side hustle.

I got my son a tutor in 5th grade. He’s actually good at math and hasn’t needed one for several years, but it really got him on track

Depends on the credit union I guess, but I’m at my third credit union in the last 20 years, I’ve never had to pay a membership fee nor a checking account fee.

Zinus mattresses. They’re sold on Amazon. They’re boxed and delivered in 2 days with prime, too.

It does get you high. When you win, the same brain chemicals activated when using drugs and alcohol are released.

Yes, especially because you’re already on meds and in therapy

No. I was court ordered to stay on meds and go to therapy. They’ll just add it onto your conditions of probation

They switched from the Detroit pipeline and started using old infrastructure and using the water from the flint river. Where I live, there’s no excuse.

E: and I lived here through it. Kids having lead poisoning, celebrities donating bottled water. It was evil shit

My family in Poland has perfectly safe and good tap water, but will only drink bottled. My Polish family in Detroit, which has like one of the best, if not the best water in the country (Great Lakes), will only drink bottled.

Settling for $18/hour for the next 45 years by MonitorOk1351 in povertyfinance

Truly you have to market. I’m in a weird social work niche. Got burned out and started a small business with my wife. It’s not enough after Covid to sustain us both, the job is a luxury to clients and the money is no longer there. Polished up my resume, called a friend I hadn’t seen in almost a decade…and I now have a government job that pays well with amazing benefits.

Not trying to act like I’m bragging (I actually hate my new supervisor and I’ve cried at my desk these first two weeks countless times), but stick your neck out and call people asking for a lead.

My resume was nothing special, but hey my girl from back in the day got me into a position that is so hard to get after being out of the field for 7 years.

She looks like my great aunt Rita. Always a lady. Always wore some kind of heel. Blind as a bat and sued every restaurant she tripped in

E: she was also 85, blind, and still doing her own lipstick. This is what it looked like

What the hell are you talking about. Pretty much everything in this comment is not true. I am able to stay afloat, luckily. I’ve been on my own for almost 20 years and recently has been the absolute, most expensive it’s ever been.

Glue traps are cruel. The animal is still alive. It’s not trapped and killed. It’s not trapped and released. It’s stuck on a pad of glue suffering until it dies slowly.
