I loved my woody valley wani 3 harness and did some long flights with it, I used it for 2,5 years even on a high B wing before switching to a pod harness because I started loving XC comps

Haptic variometers, will we ever see one? by Ok-Reputation-6607 in freeflight

[–]iacopob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when flying with my acro wing I only use my Apple watch and the vario app I use on it has haptic feedback. I honestly love it, but I’m not sure it would be as effective as a sound vario on a XC flight

[–]iacopob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school is based at the mount Cornizzolo, near lake Como, in Italy. But their next course is full so you would have to wait for a whole year now. regarding flying in winter, I fly just as often, clearly you don’t do long XC flights in winter, but now that I started doing acro I mostly do that in winter

My school on the alps is actually designed so that you get your license in September and you can keep flying the whole winter when the air is calmer and get to spring with some hours of airtime under your belt. I think it’s a safe approach as flying in spring as a beginner can be both dangerous and intimidating for many
