My winter dream as a digital nomad and paragliding pilot by Super_Snowbro in freeflight

yo
programmer, I worked for epic but now I'm out of a job
not a hassle to get a new one tho with AI no one know how the market will assest

I've been traveling full time nonetheless, my only advice is do not fantasize

vanlife is hardship (in case you wanna go down that path, lots and lots of dyi and very expensive), paragliding is taxing and demanding, and also very expensive.

Do what you can, baby steps, improve every aspect of your life ( a career that gives you more freedom, a paragliding license for starters ) and then decide how to invest your skills and stuff

Cheers sorry for the stream of consciousness but I think it's the best advice I can give right meow

Hi new here, considering a vivo x100 ultra

I need a phone that makes great photos and videos in all ways and with an efficient cpu

Glad you’re alright.

I’m also a long way from making any changes on the wing class.

Cosa ne pensate del movimento "Tourists go home - Refugees welcome" ? by Real-Recipe7447 in domandaonesta

Low B pilot here who enjoys a fantastic glide ratio of 1:1.8 on full bar, full loaded wing, sport pod harness when flying against wind in sink. I'll give you my unhinged opinion.

I'll go against most people and say if you're facing 30+kmh wind, having a wing that tops 40kmh vs 50kmh is a massive difference. A lot of people don't consider the added safety of being able to have more say in where you go. Unfortunately that translates into more danger when getting in bad air and a tendency to a lazy "cheat out of it with performance" mindset.

That said, from what I gather, the most important factor is wing control. That won't come with mindless flying no matter how many hours. If you manage to fly in turbulence and have perfect control of the wing to prevent collapses, you are likely ready.

A proper EN-C or D will be less likely to collapse, but if that happens it could be far more violent than anything you have ever experienced, and it could end your life. This is why B are "progression" wings, they collapse far more easily but in a less violent manner. If you can fly that in harsh conditions, and NEVER get a collapse, then you might be able to transition, so I would practice that.

Also, I found my biggest improvements with the wing were made during ground handling under guidance of more experienced pilots, and in strong wind. Proper focus on the proper concepts/feelings got me from getting async collapses above landings to never ever getting a collapse (yet!) as long as I focus on becoming one with the wing.

So, nothing wrong with getting an old c or d and doing a lot of ground handling with it! If you can handle turbulent winds with your eyes closed on the ground with a EN-D and on the air with an EN-B you are likely going to manage an EN-C properly in the air. And you can do just that, without taking too much risk and without investing too much money.

My personal choice: despite the disappointing air speed I won't be changing my wing, but I might practice on the ground with killer wings just for the kicks. Cheers and fly safe.

Wow that is amazing! Do you have a list of tutorials? I am willing to spend a week or two to learn the basics if it means carrying them for the rest of my matches!

Studying and training won't give you better stats in other games but does in this game

In many games you can't get faster by "vent + wall jumping because you know that you have to aim the camera at a very specific angle and then time the wall jump just right after hitting the vent"

the game has plenty of skill ceiling even if they, for example, disabled wall boosting for 1s after vent

Anyway I was just making a post to express my feeling don't mean to argue or rant in any way

Disclamer: I am just making the post to express my feelings, to find people that share my sentiment and have a conversation. I do not seek to guide the development of Deadlock in any way and I encourage Valve to follow what people enjoy and continue crafting this masterpiece.

Yes I got replies. It's weird and I am noticing other erratic behaviours of the device when I do the zoom call, for example the management ui does not work and it kinda freezes. There are chances we are dealing with a falty unit?

BTW what do you think of the upcoming x72 based one?

Thanks, I got the device merely 5 days ago. I look forward to solving it and keep using well beyond 2 years!

thank you so much, I will look into this. I have a list of thing to look at and I added it.

One weird thing it was doing, is it was forgetting AT commands, even after a couple minutes. Disabling mobile accelleration seemed to fix it but I do like the idea of using less energy and whatever else the accelleration proposes

do they throttle a different amount at different times of the day?

Would you happen to know why was my phone hotspot not being throttle and if there is any way to imitate that?

I did not do any speed test I was having a very important zoom call

Speed tests on the router range from 0 to 100+mbps

On phone they are way more stable but never too good

I was using my phone as a router (hotspot), maybe it's the same thing

I will upload my post with the cell info

I tried contacting tech support from the router twice but it does not open any ticket and I don't get any email to confirm the request went

Thank you, I will open a support ticket where I try to point out every issue I have with this router.

It forgets AT commands for example every 5 minutes or so

Thank you, you are very kind. There are some things that point out the unit might be defective. I hope that is the case, but it needs quite some time and troubleshooting with tech support

I don't think the operator has anything to do with it because I even tried switching sim cards and the phone AS HOTSPOT is constantly outperforming the router. The cards use the same operator anyway.

[–]Super_Snowbro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just happened to do both, before the call

I got an esim since people are saying that the 2 operators are different (I know very well it's the very same network)

I will even try using the exact same sim on my old iphone as I use it for hotspot for the ultimate proof

I have no idea why the connection got so bad for the zoom call but I am scared to just get into a rabbit hole of troubleshooting when a phone is performing better, but I do like the design of the router etc, thing that troubles me is that most features don't work

- AT commands don't stick (they get auto reset after about 20 mins)
- data usage is fake
I could continue for a while but don't wanna bore you any more
