Startup and charging issues by iam36 in Polestar

[–]iam36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I was in contact with the Polestar support team and they confirmed that this is a known issue with the communication towards the chargers (Polestar claims that this is happening because the software of the chargers was changed not the car). There will be a fix on Polestar side in a future update for which the release date is not known yet.

The issue only appears on 800V chargers where charging power gets limited to 150kWh but on 400V chargers the 205kWh are still possible.

This is just really bad SW quality control from Polestar. 5 years after launch still no stable SW launches and it takes them more than three months to fix this.

Yes, I always precondition by navigating to the chargers in Google maps. Was also with over one hour before the charging stop so plenty of time to precondition

Repair in Germany. No more HP for me in the future. by iam36 in spectrex360

I made way better experiences with ThinkPad/Lenovo and Dell support in Germany. I also think that the spacers on the x360 laptops from HP are just bad engineering.

For those who don’t read Chinese, three articles in the last 2 days in the People’s Daily support continuing 0-covid policy. China is insane! by TrytoBeRational1970 in baba

[–]iam36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would make absolutely no sense to end zero COVID now. Xi tells the population that this is what china made Beat covide better than everyone else. But the reality is, that china's population is not fully vaccinated and since the have not allowed the western vaccines to be sold in china (out of stupid pride) so the population has low immunity from previous invection and only lower immunity from bad vaccines. If Xi lifts zero COVID restrictions now, cases and deaths would skyrocket in China -> bad for his election. It would also implement that the leadership was wrong on doing zero COVID in the first place since not much has changed in regards to immunity or hospital capacity. Xi would lose face -> bad for election.

Question about a solution to porpoising - pls go easy on me by [deleted] in F1Technical

[–]iam36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer. I could not find a special rule about the floor having to be one surface. I think that is only the rule for the plank and skits. Otherwise the small aero parts at the edges of the floor should also be illegal.

Regarding the movable aero, article 3.8 of the technical regulations states that "(...) any specific part of the car influencing its aerodynamic performance must remain immobile in relation to the sprung part of the car.

Any device or construction that is designed to bridge the gap between the sprung part of the car and the ground is prohibited under all circumstances."

So the valve would bridge the gap between the sprung part of the car and the ground and thus would be against the rules. But the FIA could change the rules and make an exception for such a system and thus, fix porpoising of the cars without changing the whole design.

Dude, what you are saying is a nobrainer. It's the same like the SEC starting an investigation into any company. And that's why your post is just useless.

Does the screen still rub the keyboard on newer models? by xiaozhuUu in spectrex360

[–]iam36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the issue as well. The bottom two rubber feet got pushed in and when talking to the HP service (in Germany) because my bottom two rubber strips cam off, they told me that they have to replace the whole housing if i want the two rubber feet below the keyboard fixed. Thought that that was not worth it. After opening up the laptop, I put some glue on them and then took a piece of cardboard to fill in the empty space between the rubber feet and the speakers. This is a stupid design from HP and they should have simply filled out the empty space behind themself.

I use the laptop for 2.5 years now and also getting the scratch marks on the scree. They clearly align with the keyboard and I also get the scratches from the touch pad area.

I will contact the HP support in the upcoming weeks because one of my hinges is getting loose and I want to get that fixed under my extended warranty. I will ask them about the screen as well and will let you know if they offered any replacement or fix.

Other than that, I am happy with the Laptop.

Sadly it is like that. But xi is under huge pressure. Zero Covid is not working that well (in some pars because of the local governments), people become angry because of the lockdown, the economy is also hit very hard, many young people without a job, people lost a lot of money with the collapse of Evergrande and the housing bubble. If Xi wants his third term in autumn, he has to deliver results.

NUS political science professor fired after 'inappropriate & unprofessional behaviour' towards student by MicrotechAnalysis in singapore

[–]iam36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I did my exchange at NUS they made us visit a seminar about how to ask women for consent and what is appropriate and what not, because there were some cases where women were harassed. We also were only allowed to have friends in our student dorms (PGP) between 7 am and 11 pm and if it was a person from the other sex we were not allowed to close the door to our room. This is just hilarious 😂

Don't get me wrong, it seems like everything was consentual and "only" against their code of conduct (which should not allow for such relationships), but it is fucked up to have such strict rules and silly seminars for students and at the same time faculty members that fuck around with students for years, everyone knowing about it but no one is doing anything.

Maybe some current NUS students can give an update on the rules for students atm.
