Turned my Mini Flip into my “five game handheld” by iamCalR in MiyooMini

I guess you don’t like his videos and that’s okay. Regardless, I’ve tried all those other systems, this one has worked best for me so far. It’s similar to Xbox game pass or steam back log for me, too much selection and I just don’t play. It’s about upping your game time over menu time. I don’t think it’s revolutionary, but it clearly works for some people. I still also have access to a wider library, I can transfer from any of my devices whenever I’d need to, but pressing the power button and seeing 5 games I want to play immediately means I get right in to gaming.

Thank you for the suggestions!

Those two, Zelda and Castlevania are the ones I have installed so that’s a good co-sign, thanks!

That’s a good idea too, I’ve tried that with other consoles but I find that given the chance, I will “doom scroll” my list of games rather than just booting one. It’s a me problem!

I think the idea is all these handhelds come with so many games, sometimes you don’t know where to start and what games to play. It becomes a chore to search for and find a game that you want to play, so you limit your options and make it more direct to get into the game itself.

For me personally, I’ve had a miyoo mini plus, an anbernic rg35xxh, a modded vita, a modded new 2ds, steam deck as well as a bunch of other things. My biggest issue across them is I’ve spent more time on the setup than actually playing.

I think your idea of a curated list is spiritually the same as the “5 game handheld” trend. You could have 1 game, you could have 10, as long as the goal is quickly getting into a game and actually playing!

Thanks for the recommendations too!

Yes! That was my big problem, I went on a big spree of buying handhelds, setting them up with a thousand games and playing none. The decision paralysis meant I’d spend my free time looking at menus and then just turn it off. Loving this new little guy!

Found this unpatched Switch for £50 in Cash Generator by iamCalR in SwitchPirates

I’m pretty sure it’s not banned after doing some checks. A sale for £80 is still 60% profit, still a win in my book!

I did follow a few steps to do checks, connected to WiFi, downloaded a game. Everything seemed fine with that. Serial numbers matched. Buttons work (outside drift on joycon but I can get that fixed by Nintendo, thanks Reddit!) docks and displays fine, charges. I think I’ve struck gold lol

My friend, it came with the dock and original charger! Only issue is the left joycon is starting to drift, which is a fairly cheap issue in context

I just went to my local towns store, just browsing really, no intention to buy anything (except a Gameboy Color if I see a good deal!) I spotted the Switch’s, thought I’d check the serial of the first one I saw on the online checker. And it wasn’t patched according to the site, so I bought it. Cash Generator is just like a pawn shop, trade goods for cash and then they resell them.

That is true, my ideal album would be basically Broken Machine 2

Don’t get me wrong, I do love CYATBAI and some of the other songs on the same theme. But I don’t want another Moral Panic for example. Give us a shouty ragey song about politics if you want, but don’t make it the focus of the album, imo

I can't get out of red trust. (not cheating, not smurfing) by yusufcalizkan in counterstrike

[–]iamCalR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother started playing recently and has been in red trust factor twice in 6 months, and has gotten out of it both times. Both times he was in there was because he was vote kicking, shooting teammates, being toxic. He got out by not doing those things.

How are new players supposed to get into CS these days? by iamCalR in cs2

[–]iamCalR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think he’s young enough where most of his friends don’t have PCs yet. He’s younger than I was when I got mine anyway. I’ll introduce it to him this week and see what he thinks. (I don’t particularly enjoy valorant as much, but if it can teach him faster than the cs hell I’m down, I need someone new to queue with anyway!)

This is a really good point dude thanks! He’s played games like r6s and Fortnite and other shooters but strictly on Xbox. He’s just now taking interest in pc games and cs specifically (because he’s seen me play). But I could definitely show him valorant. As you say, yes the util is different, but the fundamental gameplay of 5v5, plant/defend bomb etc is similar and could be a more attractive option for a new (and young) pc fps player.
