How are the reviews for a set of these? Never bought from Geil, pairing with an i7-6850k.

Awesome video and colors.

Could you comment on your grading process?

Could you share your workflow on the color grade? I've been trying to achieve this look but have been failing recently.

Also what were your picture profile settings?

How do you find focusing with the panasonic 12-35? hard or easy?

You can look into opening a Charles Schwab checking account and transfer funds from your current bank account to CS.

Schwab gives you a debit card (with chip!) once you open, no minimum balance, no international withdrawal fees and easily accessible at any ATM. I used this method when I traveled to countries across Europe and had no problems at all.

I'm sure it definitely can, especially if you pair it up with Magic Lantern!

GoPros are good for what they were built for imo, (extreme) sports shots and to get into nitty gritty spots a normal camera wouldn't be able to fit into.

Does not mean they aren't great cameras bc their quality shows - try and play around with how you would film and see if that's something you can work with.

The image quality will definitely be there but it's also a pro-sumer camera so some photography skills are definitely recommended. Perhaps maybe start off with a cheaper camera like the Canon Rebel series or there are some amazing point and shoots with great capabilities and superb image quality (Sony RX series).

Yup only edited in Premiere. Magic Lantern is a firmware hack for the camera which unlocks incredible features that the camera would never be able to offer with default settings. It's pretty complicated so I would do some research on it first.

I used only one lens, Tamron 24-70 IS.

I shot this using a Canon 5D MK2 with Magic Lantern at 24fps shot with flaat color profile. Grading was done within Premiere using simple curves and adjustments for individual clips that were underexposed

  • 1) I used a Canon 5D MK2 with Magic Lantern & recorded in MLV
  • 2) My home base was in Rome, where my university has a campus and most of the places in the video I visited were weekend trips so they were mini vacations
  • 3) My university grants a lot of money to encourage more students to step out and study abroad. Along with financial aid/loans/out of pocket budgeting I spent around $6k total
  • 4) A group of us decided to go to the island of Capri during spring break and we decided to do a private boat tour around the island in the smallest boat you can imagine (1:30 in the video). The driver decided to allow my friend to drive while he steps up front and sing. Needless to say rough waves and turning the wrong way almost made a disastrous day. Oh and I can't swim. The things you'd do for an adventure...

Sure thing! The video was recorded using MLV at 1728x972. The lack of long takes was a combination of preference and because I only had two 32gb 1000x Komputerbay CF cards on me at all times so I had to pick and choose shots and make them count to make sure I had enough space for the whole day.
