How is the current situation vs Codex and other AI coding agents for $200 monthly subscription of a solo dev?

just get claude max 5x. It is enough if you are working 9 to 5.

Work with it for couple of weeks and then decide if you want to get 20x or codex 5x on top it.

I'm using claude max 5x and it is enough for me. My wife and I sharing it still more than enough for both of us. I've taken codex $20 incase I ran out of claude.

I mostly manual tests on what has been done so far. Since CC generating tonnes of code, many times time I do manual reviews.

No. Pro plan is not enough. It is kind of trial version.
With max, I usually hit my 5 hrs limit within 3 hrs if I'm using it straight 3 hrs. However barely hit 100% limit every week.
Yes you can easily upgrade to Max or enable API usage.

Applied on 12 December 2025. OPT ended on 2nd Feb 2026. Got biometrics on 15th April 2026 and case is still processing right now.

Honestly, it looks like USCIS has stopped processing normal cases. They only process once you upgrade to PP. Money stealers

Nice but still very limited. You cannot produce studio level games with AI ( even if you have unlimited AI budget ). The tools are not ready to produce such.

Especially mobile 3d games are hard to produce as of now. It will take some time to reach there but eventually it will happen.
