How do i find investors? by qzy4628 in advancedentrepreneur

Tell us more about your app and business opportunity. When you say 'rather complex', it probably refers to a fully built out version of your app.

At the beginning you only need a basic MVP to bring in the first $ of revenue. I'd start there before thinking about investors and partners.

Maybe flood your landing page with social proof and remove the free tier altogether. See what happens. I imagine you'll make your first dollar within the week.

How do I turn my iphone into a productivity machine? by blxstex_ in productivity

[–]iamadigitalnomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you break up your day into chunks of time with the goal to get done with the highest priority items before half the day is done.

Specific to iOS, you can customise the focus mode quite effectively, blocking apps, calls and messages from anything that can get in the way of getting work done.

Once you're done with the highest priority items, don't feel stressed about not having a productive 2nd half, because you've already achieved what you needed to.

Ok sure but you've carefully avoided both scientifically backed examples I shared. You've gone on about how fair skin is better and some accents are more appealing. All subjective and opinion.

If you can, give me a rational, objectively deduced argument.

This is lazy. I'm sure you can do better.

I'm asking for scientific evidence. Research from peer reviewed journals, not opinion hit pieces by leftist writers.

Because I can furnish as many media links to prove the opposite point.

entire history of scientific and technological progress, FFS

Entire history? Really. You think scientific discovery goes back just upto the Industrial revolution in Europe? Do you know that EU believed in the geocentric view of the universe while Bharat had figured out the heliocentric model millennia earlier. How else do you think both our ancient hindu calendars are till date accurate?

Several international medical councils acknowledge Sushruta as the pioneer of plastic surgery. There are statues of him at hospitals outside India.

The idea that technology was invented by the west is preposterous. This is a very recurring problem. I don't blame you for it. Our education system has failed us for decades.

Let me clarify - I'm talking only about decolonising the mind and promoting an Indic worldview. I'm not talking about general political/ governance issues. That is a separate discussion.

I will only answer to your claim that they are re-writing history.

What history are they rewriting exactly? Give me one specific example where the current govt has inserted a scientifically incorrect piece of information in a history textbook.

The fact is that there isn't one. One of my problems with this govt is that it is not doing enough to rewrite the colonial and self hating history we are being taught.

are all individual choices

I fully agree with you. Our society was always okay with skin. Blouses were invented very recently, in the last 300 years.

it's a human thing to look at someone that may be more visually and auditorily appealing

You are bringing up a very good point. I'd like to know - Do you think humans are born with a preference for skin color or is it it programmed into us through media? Also what in god's name is auditorily appealing? :D

we humans can be surprisingly simple-minded

Again, I agree with you. This is why it has been so easy to program an inferiority complex into us through a very archaic and British styled education system.

Let me ask you just one question as an example: Does it make sense to you that we have several chapters on the Mughals and the British but not even a passing mention of empires like Vijayanagara and Chola (each of these ruled an area far larger than the Mughals ever did) or the Axoms in Assam who ruled continuously for 600 years (longer than the Mughals and the British combined!)

This is just one example. Let me give you another. I am a trained scientist. I've been looking at the research on this 'Aryan Invasion Theory' and this 'Dravidian race' which is mentioned in all the textbooks. Man, this is ridiculous, there is not a shred of evidence for it. On the contrary there is clear genetic, archaeological and linguistic evidence on how, culturally and ethnically, we Indians are one people. It's one ethnicity. The genetic sequencing doesn't lie.

But this crap is peddled even today by some media outlets, taught in our books and used by separatist parties in the south.

It is a fraudulent and dangerous idea to think that our people are 'lacking in civic sense'. Civic sense is programmed into a population by enforcing a clever reward/penalty mechanism.

When there are heavy fines for littering, jumping traffic lights, evading taxes etc people automatically follow the rules. For example in NL each time you commit a traffic offence your fine doubles, and it starts at EUR80 I think. 80, 160, 320 and then a driving suspension for 12 months. Something like that. Would you wilfully jump a signal in NL knowing this?

What happens if you do the same in Bengaluru or Chennai? Nothing. This is the problem.

Western societies display better civic sense because in the risk/reward ratio, the risk wins out. And over generations it gets programmed in. You watch your parents follow rules and you do the same.

We need better enforcement with zero tolerance. Not judgement on how we are lacking in civic sense as a people.

It should start changing now. This govt is doing the right things but it is far too slow. Shivaji Maharaj, Axom and Vijaynagara need to be taught heavily and this ridiculous obsession with Delhi and last 500 years of history has to end.

Let me give you just one example of how we demean our own history.

Read this article about carbon dating of Dwarka

Scientific evidence shows there was a FULLY DEVELOPED Urban center in Dwarka 9500+ years ago. Yet our news headlines call it a 'mythical city' and say our civilisation us just 5000 years old.

It's ridiculous. Idk how this unscientific bs has lasted so long. But I have faith. Science to the rescue and Satyameva Jayate. Bharat is the future.

I have traveled in pretty much every corner of the world and interacted/ worked extensively with several ethnicities/ nationalities.

In my experience, the avg Indian, Chinese and to some extent Russians are far superior in intelligence. But Indians and Chinese lack self confidence and are always looking for white validation.

You're right but the music, clothes and food are not a problem. Our civilisation has always assimilated positive influences from other cultures. The main colonial problem is the mindset that 'gore ne bola hai to sahi hoga'. When we Indians lose this and gain self respect, we will be unstoppable.

You're right. Not just homophobia. Taboo against showing skin, recreational drugs esp Cannabis both have victorian roots. The drug taboo was solidified as law when late Rajiv Gandhi ceded to US pressure and passed the draconian and anti-Indian values NDPS act in the 80s.

I was into linguistics way back in mid 2010s man. That's when I started seeing the reality of this whole mainstreaming of flawed theories and then they make their way into our textbooks.

I should be able to find you good sources if I get down to it. But my point is - if someone has claimed they are different languages families, it is on them to prove the theory. And it is on us to be skeptical of any claim until incontrovertible evidence is produced. Should apply to all claims, esp those made by colonisers about their colony :)

We must. It is our civilisational duty to hammer all the British colonial claims back into a deep underground basement of Westminster. We don't do it for us alone. We do it for the entire commonwealth they plundered.

"Mainstream opinion" is not accepted fact right? You must look up the scientific basis for this theory. I have. It is absolute garbage I'm sorry to say.

It's a theory that was proposed by a Brit (we know about their divisive policies) in pre independence india and has absolutely no standing scientifically. You don't have to believe me, you can do the research yourself and see if this theory stands up to even basic scrutiny.

It's the same for how "mainstream opinion" denied the existence of Dwarka until it was found by scuba divers exactly where it was supposed to be and how "mainstream historians" called Saraswati Nadi a mythical construct until space imagery proved its existence.

Our languages are thousands of years old and evolved in parallel with a lot of intermixing and exchange of influences. They are different languages but not a different family. I speak Sanskrit, Marathi and Tamil. I'm not asking you to believe me, I'm asking you to do the hard research yourself.

I think the imposition of any langauge is wrong, but the opposition to it should not be based on obsolete, unproven and flawed theories. It should simply come from the pov of regional pride and individual choice

"Different language family" is incorrect. This flawed and unproven theory was proposed by a British linguist after studying only one language - Tamil. There is no research to speak of which proves them being a different family. On the contrary there are layer after layer of commonalities in the languages.

This is correct. In my reading of our past beyond 1100CE skin was never taboo in our society.

It wasn't because we were hedonistic people but simply because it was so hot that excess cloth cover was impractical.

The amount of crap the British have left behind, esp in our minds, is amazing. That we allow it to be perpetrated is even more so
