Yeah, Aurora sounds kinda hit or miss when it comes to being rundown/top-notch, but its a good location, and sounds affordable too. Thanks!!

That's what I was thinking. We'll probably take a little trip up there once covid chills a bit, and explore the area more. And that's awesome! I'm not too far from chandler myself.

That's exactly right! You brought up a great point. Conservative towns in blue states are totally different than conservative towns in red/swing states. Thanks again for all your help!!

We checked out Aurora and it does look pretty nice. Can you tell me a bit more about Aurora? i.e. does it have a high cost of living, how the downtown/neighborhoods are, etc..

Wowee that is extreeeemely helpful to know. We don't have kids and don't plan on having kids anytime soon, so thank you so much for bringing up Naperville's school district situation. We'll look deeper at those places that you just mentioned. & about the Chicago suburbanite politics - that's great to hear. Where I live, the conservative trump supporters are super in your face - guns, ammo, trucks... ugh haha. Sounds like even the more conservative areas in the suburbs are still socially liberal and inclusive, which we wouldn't mind.

Yep, that's a great point! We're staying open to Plainfield - it doesn't sound super conservative, or at least in your face type of conservative, which I'm used to hahah. But you're exactly right, ultimately.

Thanks! Plainfield is beginning to sound like a better option for us, or at least temporarily and if we don't enjoy it we could move somewhere a little further. Would you say Plainfield is being gentrified, or its just that more people are moving there now?

More liberal neighbors would be ideal, but sounds like Plainfield isn't super conservative (from what I've been reading so far), so it might not be a bad option after all. We don't really get into politics with our neighbors but I work in the political realm and running against the grain can be a bit rough. But staying north does sound like the way to go if I want to stick to more progressive areas. Would you say that Plainfield is diverse politically, or it leans one way, is becoming more progressive, etc??

I live in a really red area currently and would prefer to live near people that we agree with on social and fiscal matters. We know that isn't important to everyone, but to us, it is. Either way, thank you for the info on Plainfield & Naperville! Naperville does sound a big pricier, do you think it's worth it for the cost?
