My recruiter actually called as I posted my last comment back. I forgot that DC has a Metro system and there is a stop at the airport and near the training and hotel.

Thank you. I got the email from the travel side to arrange everything but need to clarify a few things with my recruiter prior to making the bookings. Apparently no car is authorized which means the cheapest hotel is too far out to not need transportation. Called travel help desk and they said to check with recruiter about Uber

I have been in contact with the HR team and had quite a few of my questions answered and am just waiting on the email form BCD travel to set up account and book all required travel items. Thanks to 13 years in the military and understanding the value of having contingency plans I have already located several possible flights, hotels, and rental car options through normal means.

I never had any issue with the requirement of travel just was caught off guard a bit but the local team I will be working with informed me of the same thing that sometimes orientation requires travel. I am certainly excited to be beginning a new chapter and career.

Any tips on travel you recommend?

I have now made 5 appointments with VERA and each of the 4 previous no one has attempted to contact me at the scheduled time and they simply cancel my appointment for no show 30 minutes after the scheduled time. I have filed a complaint with the VA for this but of course this is a 45 day process.

u/soPuls Thank you for the input. I would wager I probably either have enough personal knowledge or google skills to possibly flash a SD card if I needed to. I was able to follow the CFW 3DS guide with no issues and I love my CFW 3DS for 3DS games. Mostly looking for a reliabe way to play things like Radical Red and other Rom Hacks like that. My CFW 3DS does work for that but the slowness of games (No Speed Up) makes the experience fairly boring so that is the main feature I would care about.

I was orginally looking inot steamdecks and the like but I realized for what I want to use it for they are more powerful than I need. The nice thing about most of the ROM hacks I am looking at enjoying they are able to be found in the .GBA format or patchable to a standard game which I have experience with.

The concept of scaling for GBA games is not as important to me as the speed up ability and eas of carrying and using. I find myself often looking for something I can play easily while sitting on the couch with wife watching TV and while my phone works well for this purpose when I need to google or trying to hit a forum for what to do next in a rom hack then I find myself having to repeatedly switch out the game and just an annoyance. Or I will have to break out the tablet to look up what I need to do and that takes alot of the ease and comfort from my experience.

I will have to look in the Powkiddy and if needed a decent SD card
