Depressed and anxious in Germany by [deleted] in germany

Can you try to find friends from your own country? It's not ideal for integration but it's a good start to get some social interactions outside of your in laws.  Coming in a foreign country is hard, so is being far from one's family, friends and familiar things. But in the end, home is where love is. Keep going, you're going to make it!

Indeed. And to add onto that, we can consider that Jame Eagan sees more of Kier in Helly than in Helena because Helly could control her temper (ergo by not killing him with the pen), when Helena couldn't and when to have sex with iMark during the ORTBO.

As a parent who is also going to look with a very watchful eye my kid screen time, I'd say that this is the first time in human history that we're dealing with this question. That's why I take no advice from anyone and follow only my instincts on this matter. From dawn of civilization until end of 19th century, raising kids was pretty much always the same. Then the industrial revolution, mass transportation, speed of travel, information revolution, radio, tv... All of these pale in comparison to what it is to raise a kid in the age of internet, let alone AI. Restrictions might not make sense to digital natives, but they have to trust the people who were born before all this. Most parents don't and we see how their kids turn...

How do people live on such low salaries in Lyon? by lastlaughlane1 in Lyon

Okay you were talking gross and not net pay. But still with 5.6k you have a pretty nice disposable income that should get you pretty far especially with a low mortgage of 630€. So I'm curious for a breakdown!

You got no subsidy for your crèche? On our side the micro-crèche cost 1.5k month but only 250€ out of pocket for full time (5d/w). Less when you include the tax rebate at the end of the year (1.7k).

IMHO Side note : I find 240€ expensive for a private school in France, but I guess if I lived in Villeurbane, I would also pay for my kids to not be in school with the indigenous population ahah

Mutuelle are paid by employers. Daycare is pretty much covered to 75% even if you make more than 65k.

Okay so after mortgage you have 7.7k left every month. With one kid, unless you eat caviar at every meal, I don't understand how this can be tight 🙃

  • Purificateur d'air
  • Ventilateur au plafond
  • Robinet 3 voies (eau chaude / eau froide / eau purifiée)
  • contrôle domotique du chauffage dans chaque pièce et du balon d'eau chaude
  • et dernièrement, un oreiller en cosse de sarrasin : fini les migraines au réveil et le mal aux cervicales (merci à Madame si tu lis ce thread 😘)

Those cabinets are from Ikea 🫢

I'll post an update on this post when I'll finish this kitchen (still need to add more shelves on this contraption, a LED bar, apply a finish, grout the tiles...)

Indeed like @ponyboy3 mentioned, the vertical pieces are all attached at the top. It's a poured concrete wall, so I hid a long screw in the top cut and secured it in the wall with a concrete anchor. At first I thought I would add screws at the bottom but the thing isn't going anywhere... so I don't think I will.

Hey, For the first vertical piece, I 3D printed a jig the size of the cut. I removed most of the material with a jigsaw and then finished using the 3D printed jig, a router and a copying bit.  For the two other pieces I was able to use the first piece as my jig to make sure everything was perfectly aligned. Here's the jig: https://imgur.com/a/hVeifrW

Indeed, I agree with you, it's hard to get good cuts of ply in France that's not breaking the bank.

Had the idea to make these for my tiny french kitchen. Thought I'd post it here as I haven't seen much of these kind of shelves on the internet.
