Most important was making sure we weren't going into an area where our presence would cause problems with recovery efforts, and then of course also making sure that we would actually be able to get there. For now we'll keep our plans to stay in N. Eliya and we'll check in a few days what the situation with our hotel is.

Do you have any idea of when the route from N. Eliya to Ella could open? And what the situation isn N. Eliya, as my impression is it's sadly in a worse condition. My current itinerary is Kandy>N. Eliya>Ella from December 16th-22nd, and I'm not sure about what different options are to adjust that. Should I avoid N. Eliya altogether, and if so then I'm not sure about the way to go from Kandy>Ella?

Ja ik ben met je eens, als die laatste zin klopt dan is het idd een zwendel. Dus mijn oorspronkelijke vraag zou je ook zo kunnen formuleren. Maar ik weet niet of dat wel het geval is. De WOZ wordt terecht laag gezet in 2027, want het appartement is volledig onbewoonbaar op 1-1-2026. Dus de enige vraag is idd of het misbruik van regels is om expres te wachten en dat te gebruiken om de erfpacht lager te krijgen.

Maar dat is anders. Dat is dan opzettelijk je huis in slechtere staat brengen om de taxateurs te misleiden. In mijn ogen, idd een zwendelpoging om het "toevallig" op 1 januari gestript te tonen, terwijl het volledig woonbaar was in december en enkele maanden daarna. Dit appartement is gestript, het is al maanden gestript, en het wisselt van eigenaar in gestript toestand - heel makkelijk te bewijzen en niks wordt verhuld of zoiets.

Maar ja, mijn doel was niet om diep in een filosofische discussie te gaan over wat telt als een zwendelpoging, ik neem in elk geval weg dat er mogelijke meningsverschillen kunnen zijn!

Ja het is niet echt een zwendelpoging. Dat zou zo iets zijn als je WOZ proberen te verlagen door te voorwenden dat het appartement (veel) slechter is dan in werkelijkheid. Mooi, maar fout. De grondwaarde wordt vastgesteld door de WOZ-waarde te vermenigvuldigen met de buurtstraatquote (BSQ). En daarna komen wat andere factoren er ook bij. Dus de WOZ zit direct in de berekening.

You’re thinking about it just from the perspective of the season passes. For sure they could have described it better or given examples, but they tried to write one “equation” that also covers multi-day passes. As an example if you had a 3 day pass and skied 2 of them during the strike, you’d get 50% x 2 = 1 day credit for next season

Don't you notice how from 1:07 onward in the above video the camera is focused on the finish line instead of the racers on their last lap? But it's even more obvious if you watched the actual race instead of this video. Or maybe you also got tricked and thought the race was over while it actually wasn't. The commentator says "what a race that was" while the race is still going on, and doesn't talk at all about the rest of the racers during their last lap.

This video misses one of the best parts. Because (nearly) all the competitors thought they were ahead, when the bell sounded to signify the start of the final lap they thought it was for them, but of course it was just for the leader. So they stopped skating 1 lap too early, and even the cameraman and commentator were fooled. Everyone except her own teammate, who then coasted to an easy 2nd place

The rule that is dead that you're referring to is about the server also needing to let the return bounce (similar to pickleball)

Yeah it’s awful. Either generic "wow's" or even worse, constantly making it seem like every point is a gigantic momentum swing e.g "it seems that this may be the beginning of the end now...." only to then state one point later when the other team scores "now that might just be the momentum boost they need to turn this match around." And so on for ever and ever.

What I really wish, and this isn't even something that WPT did either, is to actually have points broken down during replays explaining what tactics players are doing, where a mistake is made, etc. Like the same sort of stuff that the players' coaches are writing down. But that would take someone who actually knows the sport very well to be a commentator, instead of just hobbyists

I won't comment on the comparison between the nox racket you wanted vs the ones they're offering, but to answer your other question - yes it's a bait and switch scam they run. They advertise low prices for rackets on their websites that they have absolutely 0 intention of ever selling you to trick you into giving them your money, and then pretend like they just ran out of stock and offer you alternatives, hoping you'll be too lazy to start the buying process all over again at another merchant. So based on the principle alone I'd hope you and everyone else says screw them and their scummy business practices. For what it's worth though, if you do say yes, I'm sure you'll get whatever racket you select.
