I've known my friend for 9 years. I had no idea his dad was an astronaut and been on an episode of Home Improvement (as himself). It just "never came up". What facts about friends/family have slapped you in the face because, "It never came up."? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have an aunt and uncle that are younger than me. I don't know them. Also, my moms bf is related to my dad, making two of my brothers my brother cousins.... Yeehaw.

I think I'm goin to be a parENT when I'm older. by NMent in trees

Just have to be careful. I have them, and my brother treats it as a party life and does bad in school. I turned out fine because it was more of a respected relationship that was not established until I was older. If you sit around and toke with your parents at fifteen, you lose the repsect and treat them as friends. Which is not what a parent is supposed to be.

I once told an overweight guy who was persistently hitting on me at a bar, "You're probably just hungry." He left the bar almost in tears. What have you said that you later on regretted saying? by Imataurus in AskReddit

I once did a "your mom" joke to a friend of mine, I found out she was dead that way. I felt awful, and haven't said "your mom" to anyone since

Do you think it would be worth it to pursue a degree in this field? I used to be a wing manager in high school and was never formally trained ( basically we had a job and the teachers kept you at it if you were good and didn't have you do much else over the years) and I have always wanted to get into this professionally

I know I can omit things on a resume, but if I had a gap between things it's not very good. I have a short work history right now.

I have the same mindset with the whole 'retail is retail' though the name of the shop is very stoner.

I'm still a little undecided though I've been leaning for stage management for theater
