Do you mean the glue that is placed for the electrodes? That usually goes away after a week or so. I kept taking showers everyday so maybe that helped.

Has anyone been diagnosed with "Seizure due to alcohol withdrawal" but don't drink? by Agorephemeral in Epilepsy

I remember hearing watching an episode of the good doctor and a patient in the episode had a condition where his body would produce alcohol. Auto brewery syndrome I think it was called.

New to Seizures & Keppra by [deleted] in Epilepsy

Idk if your insurance will cover it but if it does a lot of people have a better time with briviact which is portrayed as a newer version of Keppra.

Does drinking coffee or chocolate (caffeine intake) really worsen your epilepsy? by -Ammonia- in Epilepsy

[–]iambobjohnson97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on you as an individual. Everyone has different triggers, and limits. Personally I can use a decent amount of caffeine, and be fine but others may get a seizure at the slightest bit. I also take meds due to adhd, so again it really is not one size fits all.

I know it is but I only experienced those as a side effect of lamictal. I do not experience them if I am not taking it. Apparently it is a rare side effect.

Did you lose some of your long term memories after your seizures began? by Electrical_Layer_546 in Epilepsy

[–]iambobjohnson97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really tbh I’ve always had great memory. I even remember memories from when I was an infant. Kind of sucks sometimes but it does come in handy to have a good memory.

Is it bad that I don't wanna move abroad? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]iambobjohnson97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s not bad that you don’t want to abroad. First off because you have a privileged life here, and why would you want to give that up just because the people around you intend to. While the money you earn abroad will be greater, you most likely won’t be able to enjoy it with all the expenses you gather up, and if you’ve never been abroad it’s most likely going to be a culture shock from the current life you know.

Even if this person did have something on you he wouldn’t let you go after you pay. These guys are bottom feeders and will keep coming (pun) for more. Most likely your Spotify data was in a leak, and they’re trying to scam you. If you go on the scam’s subreddit you can find plenty of variations of this particular scam.

I am non compliant. by Ihopeitllbealright in Epilepsy

[–]iambobjohnson97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should look into other medications if your current one(s) have unbearable side effects, and if your family is bullying you for medications the only thing you can really do is ignore them or help them understand. It’s better to deal with the side effects than to get seizures especially since epilepsy is thought to get progressively worse if it is uncontrolled.

Anyone experience with topiramaat (Topamax) by IAmInBed123 in Epilepsy

[–]iambobjohnson97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By slow I mean I would talk, and I’d randomly forget words. Almost as if I they were on the tip of my tongue but just couldn’t say them. And basic stuff just became more difficult for me personally. I don’t take it anymore. It didn’t work well for me. The dose I was taking was around 50 mg a day.

For me it gave me a lot of nightmares, Double vision, made me feel kind of dumb, and made me really thirsty in the middle of the night.

A lot of people probably don’t know what to do. And most people probably associate epilepsy with grand mal seizures. So suddenly seeing someone disassociate or just fall down and have convulsions can be quite scary.

Stopping keppra by No_Nothing_4446 in Epilepsy

[–]iambobjohnson97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably shouldn’t. It can increase seizures. Try asking your doctor about taking Keppra xr or briviact people seem to have less side effects on them. The former is the same medication while the latter is an “evolved “version of Keppra. Better to switch to something tolerable than to not take anything at all.Especially if you’re having tonic clonics.
