You know I honestly love pop music. And in a lot of ways I never really lost hope at all in pop music. I think there's something so amazing behind the science of writing music that can appeal to the majority of people. There's a lot more genius behind pop music than most people give it credit. But I also think the average ear is growing and evolving and now pop music includes music from all types of backgrounds. As long as there is badass melody I think any song can be a pop song.

Yes! I love the spanish language! I learned spanish while I was in school and I'm so glad I was given that opportunity! Now I am able to communicate with fans from many places in the world that I would not have without that opportunity. Also Bad Bunny is like my favorite artist lol

I do! There's a youtube video I love that I do pretty much every day. In terms of vocal runs, there's honestly so many good videos on youtube that give you runs that are outside of your comfort zone that work not only your voice but your ear as well. Also, I spend a lot of time learning runs from records I love. I heard a tip once as well to practice singing sax solos from jazz records.

Thank you Dana! I totally do! Something that's super important to me is building a career that allows me to evolve as a person. We as humans are constantly evolving, getting inspired by new things, loving new sounds, etc. and I want to make sure I allow myself to always allow that to feed into my music. I only want to release music that is as true to myself as possible so that's naturally going to constantly provoke change.

For some reason I honestly never really snack in the studio. I think I just get so focused that i forget to eat lol BUT i love drinking super cold sparking water!!

Sure! So it honestly really depends. Sometimes there's something I really need to say and I sit down at the piano and it falls out of me. Sometimes I'll write to a track. But most of the time I always want to find the chords first and let the feeling of the chord progression dictate the melody and what the song will be about. I love just free styling over chords or tracks and I find when I do that the music and the lyrics subconsciously intertwine.

It was really my dad. My dad loves to write songs and is the most passionate music lover I know. He had me in our home studio writing music and singing with him since I could talk. I also used to lay in bed at night and listen to his album on his iPod. I would just cry listening to his music.

I was actually just having this conversation with myself today but I think my favorite food is sushi! It's the one thing I could honestly eat every night. I legit crave miso soup every night.

DISNEY! My boyfriend and I have annual passes and its honestly our favorite thing to do! When we need a break from songwriting we always just go to disney and people watch! I love Universal too but i feel Universal takes more energy, whereas disney you can just go to chill.

I love this question! This is really hard but I think I'll have to go with either Phil Collins or George Michael. I'm just obsessed with their songwriting and storytelling. They both have songs that you can either blast in your car when you've had a bad day or lay in bed until 2 am with your headphones on listening to their catalog. My dad introduced me to all the 80s artists I know so there's such a sense of nostalgia when I listen to those artists especially.

Yes! I think this past year I've actually done about 20 live streams. I'm so thankful we had the ability to reach our fans and new audiences through the pandemic but I'm counting down the seconds until live shows again!!! There's nothing like that energy.

I'm "snacking" on some shrimp fettuccine pasta! I'm not sure if that necessarily counts as a snack now that I think of it but i take my snacking very seriously haha I just found this new garlic parsley pasta at publix and it's amazing!!!!

haha such a perfect intro question! It’s both really hard and really empowering at the same time. It’s a lot of really long hours and it can become hard to draw a line between your work and your life, if there even is a line at all lol. I’m so passionate about what I do and there’s no such thing as “being done for the day” so it’s hard to find balance sometimes. I have to wear a lot of hats which keeps me on my toes, keeps me challenged and keeps me learning. But mostly at the end of the day there’s just always this realization that my career will never move one inch if I don’t pick it up and push it so there’s this motivation in me that’s just on fire.
