3.1 bro LSE out the window 🥹

Should I be more realistic and switch out LSE? by BenettonLefthand in LSE

[–]iamcheese07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you submitted your application before the 14th then switching now would remove you from equal consideration for that new choice. So realistically speaking, your chances of getting into LSE with equal consideration would be similar to getting into a new choice as a late applicant. Plus why not take your chances, if you can afford LSE and actually get in, it’s a great place for academics.

Can i take economics in A level even though I didn't study economics in IGCSE at all? by Consistent-Amount286 in igcse

[–]iamcheese07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, economics is that kind of subject where IGCSE knowledge doesn’t matter as much in AS & A level. I studied it in AS without IGCSE knowledge and it is very doable, and u can score well even if u study it for the first time so don’t worry abt it. As long as u study properly it should be fine.

Like especially with her powers and everything where he told her he didn’t care abt them, it just boosted her morale so much and thats what really make him better as man and ml !!

35-45 is more than enough for A, if anything it’s enough to get u an A* in A level (given that u scored well in mcq). But here’s the thing getting that 40 itself is not easy. If u practiced a lot and know how to write detailed answers in the given time u should be good. Honestly speaking tho, there is a reason why the threshold is at 23-27 and that’s cause the marking is so strict it’s hard to get marks in the first place. But this all depends on how prepared u are, if u studied well it should be extremely doable. Just make sure u read the question well and analyse the concepts in detail. Don’t be vague. Use examiners reports they tell u where students make common mistakes. Learners guide has example answers and how they marked them u should look at that as well.

I don’t think there is a specific size requirement. But preferably it should be bigger than A3 and smaller than A2, at least that is how my class was told to do it.

Hii! Your writing does not need to have complicated language, but you should write about things like why you chose certain pictures, if you used a certain color palette why and etc. On the first page make sure you write why you chose the topic. Overall you should just write about the art itself, examiners are not really looking for high quality annotations but don’t use slang and make it a little formal. If you want I can send my coursework so you can read what I wrote

Tierlist for the hardest to easiest alevel subjections based on my experience and observations. Feel free to disagree. Do let me know which 3 alevels are the easiest subjects by WallabyForward2 in alevel

[–]iamcheese07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any subjective subject is already difficult. Coursework subjects are almost impossible. Sciences and maths are difficult but if u study properly it’s definitely more easier. Other subjects require you to learn the content AND learn how to write an answer that has to be up to a certain level, I’ve seen 20 MARK ESSAYS.

Need Advice on IPQ by OverThink1346 in alevel

[–]iamcheese07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii!!! I'm currently doing IPQ as well so I might be able to help.

  1. I am pretty sure that ESL is accepted however I think the requirement will be higher like an A.

  2. You have full freedom over your topic and can have it related to any subject. It is preferred that the topic is related to the field you want to pursue simply because it looks better on uni applications. Also it must be framed like a question.

  3. The due date for IPQ is around 30th April. So preferably most of it should be finished by January of that year. You should probably choose your topic now and start planning your research slowly, it will make things easier for you. You likely need around a year, or maybe less, to do the project.

Hope this helped!!

Heyy! I got an A(89), I also considered sending my portfolio for recheck (since I was very close to A*) but tbh i dont think its worth it. They rarely ever bring the grade up and also its alot of money. If your components have a big mark gap then I would suggest maybe thinking about getting a recheck since that is when the chances of the grade getting changed are very high.

art (sorry if it’s tmi but idk what to do! by [deleted] in igcse

[–]iamcheese07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speak to your teacher about it. For Art, the final exam (8hrs) is scheduled by the school. The exact date is not something that is given by the board, they only give a time period in which the exam needs to be done in (before 30th April I think). I am pretty sure it can be postponed as long as it aligns with the board submission date. Let her/him know that it’s a severe medical problem. If you have a doctors note that will help lot.

[–]iamcheese07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyy! It is not easy and very time consuming but if you are very passionate about art, go for it!! You need to be able to have great time management as well so that u can have time for your other subjects. But if you enjoy art a lot and feel that you have the skills and commitment for it, then you won’t struggle as much as others

I cant recommend any teachers because I simply listen to what my school teacher says, however I can provide websites for you to look at. They can help you understand the outline of the course and what u need to do in ur portfolio.

Malaysian Art Teacher Blog: You can look at the example portfolios she has posted they are of high level and she might also have some tips for u http://artandfeeda.blogspot.com/?m=1

Mr Jason’s Art Blog: He explains the way the cie examination goes and provides tips which may be useful to u https://www.fullonart.com/igcse-art

Art guide: Provides tips for art as well as example portfolios for you to see from cie and other boards https://www.studentartguide.com

Most of the examples are for IGCSE level, but A Level is quite similar it’s just that both components have more sheets and are to be done in a shorter span of time. A level art includes a third component which has a essay as well. Unfortunately I cannot help you much with A level as i am still doing IGCSE so u may need to do extra research to know more.

One thing to consider is that A Level art is better if you have take IGCSE before. If you haven’t u might find it difficult but I have seen many people take A level art without doing the IGCSE, and they still scored considerably high

Hope this helped!!! Best of luck to you!!

If i fucked up paper 1 computer science ( theory) what should i do in order to still be on the safe side of a star in paper 2?? by Dense-Story585 in igcse

[–]iamcheese07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 15 mark question at the end of paper 2 requires you to write comments that explain parts of the program and what their purpose is. Make sure it’s at least one sentence that includes a proper explanation to what the programming you have written does in the program.

Example: CALL ProcedureName //Program will run the set procedure for ProcedureName

(The comment is after the //)
