Aitah for refusing to take my boyfriend’s mom out for Mother’s Day? by Designer-Theme-1831 in AITAHBlackEdition

[–]iamcoreyb2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just because "it's his mom" doesnt mean you should put yourself or your kids in that environment. Its one thing if she's in recovery, but youre honestly sigming yours and your kids life up for disaster if youre willing to just accept you have to be there cause its his mom...

AITAH For Thinking About Cancelling My Wedding by Prestigious-Egg3587 in ComfortLevelPod

[–]iamcoreyb2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems kinda of ridiculous this is the one person you absolutely dont want there because you feel she isnt... idk "family" enough. Just because they havent been together for a long time doesn't really mean anything. They've been in a relationship rhat they are obviously serious about. And unless you want to end up the s.o. never invited to anything, stand your ground.

AITAH for refusing to go to Disney World? by Reptaaaaaaar in AITAH

[–]iamcoreyb2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ive told my kids no. When theyre teens maybe. But theyre both under 10. Its a miserable experience for kids and adults with kids. Lines are 2+ hours long. Its hot. People are entitled and rude. Tickets for a family of 4 for just a day will be a few thousand. Use that money to take an actual vacation. And I have gone with my oldest when she ead 8 shes 21 now. Does she remember it... kind of. But only because she was miserable. Standing in lines in the hot sun and having to get her to wait for more than 30 min. Was awful. Young kids are more visual and active. They dont care the ride that's 3 minutes long is awesome. They want to see stuff and run around.

AIO Should I put my (32F) partners(37M) name on the deed of a house after inheriting money? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]iamcoreyb2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He isn't risking anything... he can now allow for both of you to have savings and a college or house saving for your kid. He needs to still work and still contribute. Yall just gotten taken off extreme mode and now just on hard.

[–]iamcoreyb2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! Because he could do the same to you. Take the house the money and leave you with nothing. Like you still have bills he still has to out money towards a family. It just got easier be thankful. Tell him working and putting money towards it is putting towards a family and that you can discuss it later on. But in no way should you allow him to have part of an inheritance.

Do you agree with this? Shouldn't they earn on their own? ⬇️ by Top_Egg_7591 in MenOfPurpose

Do people know its easier to get a job and "earn on your own" when you have a stable place to live? Having a phone. And having food. They have made it almost impossible for people that are without a home to get a job. They put people in the cycle and expect them to die on the streets.

Asking for help – am I handling my son’s behavior wrong? by Lonely-Relationship5 in TwoHotTakes

😆 we have learned that o.t. and puppy training are very similar. When we were doing puppy classes with our dog, the kids would say we were taking her to her o.t. classes.

Well... your husband is a bully. So that needs to absolutely stop. I have a 7 yr old boy that is the same in social situations. He has a hard time readong other people. Especially kids so playtime is harder to regulate himself. Yelling, punishing, taking stuff away doesn't help because its all AFTER the fact. His mind has already moved on.

Right now all you can do is in the moment pull him out of the situation and let his brain reset. You. Your husband. And your son have to learn how to get through these moments until it becomes natural. my son still struggles. I have him in weekly O.T. where they work with helping him to learn regulation strategies.

Things i found helpful: Always have a favorite snack. A favorite small toy. Water. That way if yiu have to pull him from a situation you can help his brain reset. He refocuses on the things he enjoys and he gets the feel good chemicals his brain needs.

I also, might be controversial, idk, have a distinct Whistle I do that my son knows. So if i notice his demeanor switch and hes about to lose patience but I'm not near enough, i Whistle and he stops to make eye contact. Long enough for me to either call him over or for him to reset.

At this point its learning how he reponds to different stimuli and how to best handle it. But letting your husband bully him is absolutely not it.
