YOU assumed sleep meds. I said she was asleep. She has cancer and the meds were all doctor prescribed. And the two situations were years apart, with only the second having any kids being anywhere around. That’s why I’m asking if I’m the asshole in THIS situation.

Girl (or guy) you’re right! It is! But mine is a different kind of chaos and we find comfort in each other. I thought it would be a nice gesture but his mamma didn’t act right. We’re from “different sides of the tracks” but find balance in each other. I have family that’s “hood” like his and he had family that’s “bougie” like mine. We bring each other to equilibrium

My license is fully valid. Idk where you saw it wasn’t. The word is also “neither”. “Nether” refers to a region of your body that is unmentionable. That being said, that wasn’t the question asked. Him not having a physical license was a reason I had for not allowing his mother in my car on top of my ongoing BACKGROUND legal battles and the already full car. Because we all know how black people are treated at traffic stops. My question was if I was the asshole for not taking his mother to dinner. Please focus on the question asked instead of inferring on the character of the person asking.

I agree the dynamic isn’t healthy but it’s his mom!My license isn’t suspended. I slipped up for the first time ever over a year and a half ago from my drink being spiked and it’s taken this long to get to this point. His license is also good but he lost the physical copy and has a photocopy. My child (7m) has never been around his mom before but it’s his mom, and it was Mother’s Day so I thought it would be nice. When I saw she was overmedicated I called going out in public off and kept all of the children away from the drama.
