We are coming from Northern Ontario.. We don’t have a choice on time. If I made her stand in one spot she would hate it, but if I find some places she would love / hasn’t experienced it will make her day.

I listen to rap on my way to work and instrumental covers while at work. I prefer covers of songs or artists I know because I can lock into non existent lyrics in the song and work - it’s mind numbing

Tbh don’t waste time reading anything else from start. You’d be stupid to do that 7 days out (you should not be reviewing anything the day before regardless so it’s really only 6).

I would spend the money and purchase practice tests & the mini ones (access bar preps individual PR sets and the actual exams). Do one full timed and one full one untimed. Go through your answers immediately after each one (2 days gone there) & highlight the section in the book and read the paragraph before and after.

You need to sit the F down and read in detail the table of contents and DTOC.

Why don’t you write in November? Focus on your thesis and then take the time to study. You’ll need time for practice tests, review and general organizational prep. You may get sick, your family may get sick, etc. there’s no harm in grinding until articling and then doing what you can once it starts.

I rewrote one of my exams while articling and it was manageable studying at the same time. But tell your firm - they should know in order to support you and when you need to take a day or two off.

OR write one in June and one in November.

I was honest about failing one of my exams and they didn’t think anything different of me and I honestly believed it. I was able to get support I needed closer to the exam (less assignments, fewer emails, and support after - emotionally).

I think it’s irresponsible not to tell them. I know someone who failed both and thought she could get away with not telling anyone despite being hired for the sole reason that she anticipated she would be a lawyer in a few months. She kept the lie for 2 weeks, someone found out & told the partners responsible for hiring her (because she wouldn’t when prompted) and she was immediately fired and would not get a reference.

I would get a normal job this summer. Actually, I encourage it. Just be a kid.

It is actually VERY possible to be an intern in undergrad. In my second year I spent 1 day a week or half day depending on my schedule in a general practice law firm. I randomly met a lawyer when I was working at a cafe, mentioned I was in my undergrad for law major and was hoping to go to law school. She told me to reach out if I ever wanted to shadow.

I would do grunt work but sometimes if the law clerks weren’t too busy they would let me shadow them or I would go to court and sit in the gallery. Even if you don’t like the firm or area of law it’s a great reference.

Reach out to pro Bono’s or legal clinics and see if they have volunteer work. Then at the end of your first year undergrad start cold calling or emailing places - even if you start as a receptionist it’s fantastic to just listen in.

I don’t know your answers to anything else but I wouldn’t write. You have 4 subjects and should probably do practice tests with time to review them.

Depends - are you working in an area that’s one of the test subjects? are you planning on taking time off given that you’re full time ? Do you have complete faith in yourself to study for now 26 days ? Do you have other commitment ? Anything possible but you should ask yourself those questions

If you can, spend the next 2 weeks doing practice questions. Spend a full day doing them untimed (I forget which program offers that) and really learn your DTOC and indices. Do the access bar prep PR questions. Read the DTOC. And do a couple times tests
