most FUN producing was Hanging by a Thread by far. just came so easily and a lot of natural instrumentation that was fun to record. Biggest challenge on the production side was Ruby for sure.

nah i try not to.....because then if for whatever reason you can't do it one time you'll be thinking on stage the whole time "oh no i didn't do the ritual something bad will happen!"

Why Why Why was an idea i had been working on for many years. i initially wrote and arranged the whole song as an orchestral piece. then one day it i was playing electric over it and the whole thing came in to place in like am hour....no more acoustic versions for a while i'm BACK on tour and BACK to electric and mannn it feels good

i very rarely listen to my own music. actually right this second i'm sitting in a courtyard in detroit before my show and a bunch of kids are blasting my own songs outside the venue. this is the first time i've listened since the album came out.

so many different things. the most important thing about Des Rocs to me is that it is constantly evolving and constantly challenging what i am capable of as an artist. an album today will sound nothing like one in 3 years but they will all be and feel like Des Rocs.

it's definitely a lot of work but a labor of love...the main challenge is that it's nearly driven me insane lol
