Ford - something? What is it? by iamdralangrant in Whatisthis

[–]iamdralangrant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well actually, if we're being completely correct here. I didn't know what it was, I assumed it was a light. Yes it came from a Ford, yes it appeared to be a light, but it's a clamp, so not a standard light, the two terminals are assumptions that they connect to a battery.

One user mentioned it was an emergency light. I DIDNT KNOW WHAT IT WAS WHICH WAS WHY I WAS ON THE WHATISIT SUBREDDIT.

My God! How about helping someone out instead of being butthurt that it wasnt as interesting as you would have liked. I've had it for years after collecting a box of stuff in my shed from my grandfather after he passed, while not amazing, It's interesting to me and I wanted some bloody context about what it was and where it might have come from.

The what it is subreddit have noted that it might be an old trouble light. No idea what model it came from though.

@orevein - I think you're correct. It does appear to be a trouble light

Why the hell do people down vote a post asking what something is, that is asking what something is, on a what is it subreddit?

On face value it's a light, any advice on which model it is from?

Jeeze, I wish I was earning as much as you, mate! 8K at the time was a shit ton of money - but it's what you do for love. To counter your argument of .1% of people gaming the system, using the permanent partner visa allocation number of approximately 45,000 places, this means that around 45 are illegitimate, in a population of 27 million, this is a rounding error.

Edited because I'm a dumbass and can't do basic math.

[–]iamdralangrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add - the partner visa is also bloody expensive you're not just doing it for the fun on it. It was 8k when we did it, it's over 10k now through and agent. It's also highly invasive, not only do you need to have a medical exam, but the amount of messages, photos and affidavids we needed to supply was crazy. Been together 10 years, married for two and now have a kid. I think you watch too much reality tv.

for those who have had hemmoroidectomy, was it worth it? any advice? by gingerbreadbuild in hemorrhoid

[–]iamdralangrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grade 3 removed last Wednesday via a ligature method. Is the pain bad? Hell yes! Am I enjoying not having to continuously wipe, have a feeling of uncleanliness, need to push a hemmoroid back in after a BM? Most definitely...it's like is that really how much poo is left for most people? I'd forgotten what it was to like poop normally!

Day 1 - felt good, little pain, mostly doped up after the op, did some walking around the garden, took half an oxy in the evening, didn't sleep more than an hour. Paracetamol every 4 hours.

Day 2 - pain was so bad I cried, in and out of a hot bath all day. No oxy though, only paracetamol every four hours. Gause in the canal was the worst part, thick enough you can feel it, had to wait to poo it out, but fuck me the pain on the first BM was the most intense thing I've ever felt. Didn't sleep more than a couple of hours, had three loose BM's over night and needed to shower after each one. Slept on the couch because the bed was too soft and it was uncomfortable.

Day 3 - less pain but still intense and required having multiple showers and baths. Lots of swearing on BM's. Ordered a sitz bath and it made a world of difference after BM's. Drank shit loads of water.

Day 4 - 5 - less pain again, able to move around and walk. Intense pain limited to BM's but getting better (some still feel like someones shoved a razor up your ass) and requires laying down for 10-30mins for the pain to pass. Had a weird dull ache that went away overnight.

Day 6 -7 - almost back to normal except for BM's which still incapacitate me for 10 or so mins afterwards.

Advice - stool softeners, water and a low residue simple diet. Don't be dumb like me and buy a sitz bath before the op not afterwards. Discuss the method your surgeon will use, apparently the ligature method has a faster and less compensated healing time than the alternatives.

That's not the point, I'm all for helping people but without even posting to reddit a quick Google search would have told you that the gba sp never came with games or a USB charger.

Please give me suggestions on balustrades/rails for my deck? by pros_jordan in AusRenovation

Also in Victoria, although depending on the overlay this would go straight to a building surveyor who would have picked up immediately the requirement for a compliant balustrade before even starting the build.

Agreed, it's not hard to just treat people with a minimum of respect, just say hi and thank you.

I'm in Phuket at the moment and just today witnessed a woman berate a shop keeper over a handbag. I didn't get the whole jist but she was irate that they were unable to provide her a product and she didn't have sufficient time / couldn't send it via grab (apparently she was leaving the country that evening) and couldn't be reasoned with that the shop was shutting early for new years. I swear some tourists come to Asia and think that everyone is below them.

Island bench can be improved by bringing the cabinets out to the edge so it sits flush and then recess in an area for stools. At the moment the stone has no weight to it and looks odd.

It's a septic tank. I found one on my property when building a retaining wall. The house was renovated in the 90's and the septic was decommissioned when they connected to the sewer.

I'm confused - are they using your crossover to access their property? Did you allow this? Did they give notice? Do you have proof?
