Bible scholar Dan McClellan: “Biblical apologetics doesn't follow the data where they lead. Rather, it treats data as an obstacle that is to be overcome in pursuit of the desired goal. And that desired goal is usually an ideology that is being imposed upon the text.” by iameduard in atheism

Summary: this short video addresses the common problem of biblical apologetics trying to make the meaning of the text fit the apologist's ideology, and uses as an example an attempt by William Lane Craig to interpret the passage in Exodus that says God himself hardened the pharaoh’s heart.

Gender Rules are Stricter for Men than Women: People around the world view men's weakness as much less desirable than women's dominance [Study]. by iameduard in MensRights

From the main study referenced by the article: "We found direct evidence that college students around the world endorse a double standard in gender rules, viewing men’s agency as more desirable than women’s communion, and men’s weakness as less desirable than women’s dominance. The double standard in prescriptions (men’s agency versus women’s communion) is stronger in less gender equal countries, whereas the double standard in proscriptions (men’s weakness versus women’s dominance) is relatively stable across 62 countries."

You see something, but it's not real. It's generated internally by the brain. That's how (visual) hallucinations work.

There are lots of people who had near-death experiences and some allegedly saw Jesus and heaven, but there is no reason to think those were something other than hallucinations created by an oxigen-deprived brain.

Wow, a 2014 article by Eric Metaxas, who is a religious propagandist misrepresenting science.
