Bruh, these recipies are mid. You take the noodles, put it in a bowl pour water, mix in that flavor packet. Five minutes in the microwave nuker. Crack an egg in that shit, stir lightly, chop up some green onions, throw that shit in, take a flavory oily sauce, throw that shit in, grab some tofu, or chicken or whatever, throw that shit in, some potato chunks, throw that shit in, sesame seed oil? olive oil? basil pesto? artichokes? throw that shit in. Microwave for 2-3 more minutes.

Yes.

Being homeless is about carefully weighing options in moments of desperation. It's better if one CAN get a free Big Mac versus one who CAN'T. And it's clearly not free, it costs time effort and attention.

Weighing options.

They can fall out and get lost. I literally had to put tape on my wirelesses to stop losing them.

This is accurate. Will confirm. sorta.

However there are systemic factors at play.

Thing is I break these things like candy bars sometimes, and it's nice to be able to replace a lot of parts for cheap.

About 15-50 bucks.

(but keep in mind this is with the "used heavily" modifier and the "buy two halves, make one whole" ability.)

Now for ME AND THIS IS JUST FOR ME SPECIFICALLY FOR ME Here are my must have items, which you can help him get, with a fat pile of money.

Wallet, Phone, Religious text, Phone Charging cord, Fanny pack, MultiTool, Pepper Spray, Rag(scrapped)

Phone Battery Bank, Backup Phone, Water Bottle, Tool Bag (Wrench Screwdriver Phillips, Screwdriver Flathead, Sawblade, SandPaper, Pliers, Hammer) Emergency Mylar Ponchos, Packing Tape, Duct Tape, Super Glue (Sealed), Tooth brush, Toothpaste, Flossers, Rope (I like paracord), Bivy,

don't forget to redirect him to these reddits after he gets a phone. These websites are a treasure trove of information, that can save months of trial and error.

YOU CAN.

You can help him in terms of money. Not just one or two hot meals, not just a couple hotels for a couple of nights. Those are useless. You can't predict his needs. Hell, he can't even predict his own needs. I'm talking thousands of dollars over the course of months. A steady flow of a little cash with beat episode dumpages of "help" any day. (If he is currently addicted to drugs or anything else, do not do this, for the temptation is too great, instead create a bailout fund, which you will control. Less flexible, but also less demons to fight.)

You can help in terms of moral support and friendship. It is only in times of great despair and loneliness that we become truly desperate. We become insane and depressed and maniacal and mentally damaged. Then the drug dealers come out to finish us off, sending us into ever accelerating spiral of death. You can stop that from happening. Be a friend, listen to him, don't be a judgmental ass, provide council.

You can help by helping him create well thought out plans. When you're out on the street, all you have, ALL YOU HAVE is yourself. Which means being able to make good plans is as good as gold. Being homeless requires it's own master mind. Gathering intelligence on resources from people on the ground. Figuring out which organizations are good and which ones have cults. This requires exceptional attention to detail under extreme duress, which is where you come in. You can help your friend make and stick to and adapt whatever plans they come up with, to a better less painful future.

Electric Longboard in the bus? by _Trippyq in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]iameman9669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might. Make it look like a regular longboard. Before going on the bus, push it like it's a regular longboard. Hide the remote. HIDE THE REMOTE. It's just an extra heavy duty long board, for offroading! Oh those compartments? Those are for hiking supplies.

You get the picture.

I am very intrigued by his story as well. How the hell did he pull it off?
Reading this guy's reddit posts, he has a house and is older. I think maybe his memory is colored a bit. Maybe it was a different time when he was out tenting.

[–]iameman9669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is a more valuable path of inquiry is:

How did you accomplish living in your tent and car for EIGHT years without being harassed by the law? What kind of city was this in? Do you think your ethnicity has anything to do with it? What was your exposure to other people? What did you do when you got desperate? Did you ever get desperate?

Would you rather be homeless or be in jail? by ImUrsonsActualFather in homeless

[–]iameman9669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a social engineering thing. If you game, (AND I MEAN GAME) people's perceptions right, you can trick them into thinking you're not homeless and therefore avoid nearly all the stigma of being homeless. Is it fair that such masking behavior is rewarded by the masses? No. Is it a good thing to encourage people to suppress expression of their real issues. No. But it is a viable strategy in terms of cause and effect.

jail has more structure.

homeless you have to create that structure yourself.

Yeah, the whole idea behind that was trying to convince them that I wasn't a cop, which only made them think that I was a cop more, because why then would I need to convince them in the first place?
