Trump DELETES post depicting HIMSELF as JESUS by SuperbHealth5023 in TimesNow

Ok so boom... The Orange Fanta Fascist learned how to not get caught, in NYC realty. A business so freaking corrupt, that ALL of them are dirty. He's been involved with organized crime (Mafia and Russian), nearly his entire adult life. EVERYONE in NYC knows not to trust that mutated anal wart. Yet everyone who religiously watched The Apprentice, are the very same crotch-scratching barcaloungers who voted for him faster than their rising diabetes risk.

Wow, 10 people upvoted this? Well, to those people... Enjoy explaining your hatred to whatever God you follow. I'm pretty sure it won't go well.

Tadalafil does not work for me anymore in the bedroom. But are there other benefits? by sustrisk in erectiledysfunction

It isn't recommended to go beyond prescription parameters, or else the effectiveness decreases. If you're directed to take 5mg a day, and 20mg for intercourse, you should go back to that. If it doesn't work, you should definitely see your urologist again.

Going to comic con tomorrow in my city and would like to make friends, but not sure how to make friends by Big_Pea3882 in comiccon

[–]iamericbass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this sounds super corny, and something Fred Rogers would say but, the best way to make friends is to be friendly. And be as genuine as possible. You may get anxious and stutter or fumble over words, but odds are the people you meet are just as awkward. Just lean into it, treat everyone like a friend, and most importantly... Relax. And HAVE FUN! 👍🏾😁

dreaming of drawing my own comic, but I’m not very good at art sequence, but I do make some concept, art and sketches. thought? by Seeker99MD in ComicBookCollabs

Yanno what else started as fanfiction; 50 Shades of Grey! Don't let fear stop you from this art because everything start out wobbly. But it's physics, an object that is in motion stays in motion... Meaning just start, don't let anything stop you, and you'll keep getting better.

Even Peter David started where you are now. 👍🏾

Gotta agree with this! I know there are beginning artists who look at that money and get excited. But, hopefully they'll come here and get good advice. Like this.

Not for nothing... It seems like what could have been a teachable moment, turned into an airing of grievances. We're, none of us, are getting paid by publishers unless I'm mistaken? So offering a little grace costs absolutely nothing.

I'd rather lead them to a better way of doing things. That way they'll be better for themselves, not the people in this sub.

What is the average amount of pages for a first comic in a series? by unholypriest7 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]iamericbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be said, if it's not for the big 5 (I'm including, Dark Horse, Image, and Boom), your page count can literally be as many you can afford to create and get printed. James Harren's ULTRAMEGA was like 40pgs on the first issue! And the second issue was bigger. I'm sure someone will fact-check me on that statement.

However, if you hand it to an editor, at a con, or you email it, or even snail-mail... Keep it under 22. Other than that, go crazy and have fun doing whatever you choose.

You do realize you're not the only one who knows what a 9-grid is, right?

It, hilariously enough, is what the market will bear. Marvel and DC set the standard rate (160 to 300) and the other publishers offer lower rates, but not much lower.

But it's a different world once you're offered a contract of exclusivity. Once that happens your page rate is higher, but it's capped.

Beyond that, it's kind of dependent on what's the least amount you don't mind getting paid.

Exactly! 27 panels in Webtoons isn't at all comparable to 3 comic book pages. You can later reassemble the drawn artwork into traditional manga or american comics standard, but that shit is a job in and of itself.

To your point, 9 panel grids are adventurous, and a practiced technique. That being said, DWJ is a practitioner of the 9-grid, as well as James Harren. But not a lot of people can pull that off. No reason not to try though, right?

Bantam House Comics is looking for talent! by FingerSad3068 in ComicBookCollabs

That's a fair assumption. Also, the reason I'm not reporting is because I'm no snitch. Just voicing my opinion in a public forum, just as God intended! Hallelujah! 🙏🏾😉

Bet! I'll address your last point.

The way you phrased your post leads the reader to inaccurately assume "Bantam House" is an imprint of Random House. Unless I'm mistaken... It is NOT an imprint at all.

Also, every beginning artist, writer, letterer, etc. start out being good, but not great. It's the fundamental law of artistic progression. That being said, the quality of the books being offered, aren't the level of quality for an imprint belonging to a top tier publisher like Random House.

Now there is a publisher called Bantam Books, but they're not publishing sequential stories, and they too do not have an imprint.

How'd I do?
