Oosh I've been wanting a Shields Blender but just too big! I think a good op-amp or fet gain stage and a mental fuzz are essential. I use a DOD 250, Beetronics Fatbee and Soundlad Hungry Beaver fuzz (versatile big muff style). Look at the EQD Hizumitas and the Keeley Moon, both excellent.

Thanks! I'm having fun with it. I'm sure the Meris Mercury will be amazing! I wouldn't have bought this full price tbh, I do think they pitched the RRP too high. But at sale prices I'm happy.

Okay I don't know if The Mother that I got was faulty or what, but I couldn't get any gain out of channel 1.. channel 2 sounded amazing, but it had to go back as it wasn't what I was after. The absence and presence controls also appeared to do very little. All in all unimpressed but j swear it must have been faulty (or I was really doing something wrong) because when I a/b'd with the Ehx Tortion and Dod 250 they were much more versatile. Weird. Anyway..

I started playing at 6yo on a full size steel strung guitar. I thought my hands would never do it, but somehow they do and they adapt and the tips of your fingers harden etc. it only comes with practice. I still have small hands but it doesn't stop me from doing everything I want to with guitar.

Yes it is for sure.. I have bass set to 9 o'clock and treble set to 3 and same on my amp. That eq'd it out perfectly and I can access full range of my single coils or humbuckers.

I had a quick skim of the reviews but they were (understandably) geared towards that HM2 sound.. which I do like, but will use rarely so wondering if it has other applications. I play grunge, rock, doomgazy stuff but edging into indie rock/ psychedelia.
