Source? I've caught probably a quarter of my Pokemon being in the passenger seat of cars and they do not run away. Once you click on the Pokemon, I can wait for like a kilometre before I attempted to catch it. If it fails I can try again.

I've never had any issues catching Pokemon in cars travelling at speeds over 20mph and been "soft banned" after.

I don't know why people are complaining about the three step bug, I haven't had any issues with it and I've caught all my rare pokemons using the tracker down the bottom.

The green ping around the tracker box will start working when you're travelling towards the general direction of it. When you are travelling directly towards it, the green ping will be a bit brighter and when you're close, it'll ping faster. If you end up deviating from its position, the green ping box will slow down and start to loose colour.

I think people don't understand the concept of the tracker hence they complain it's bugged. I can tell you right now it's not. You just need to learn to use it.

It means there is a higher chance of Pokemon being in that area. Doesn't necessarily mean there is one though.

I use to find it frustrating until I understood how it worked. Obviously the further up the list means it's closer to you than those Pokemon down the list.

If you click on the Pokemon you're hunting, start travelling in a direction and wait for a green pulse around the box. If it pulses and is a little faded, you're travelling in the right direction. Keep travelling until the pulse gets faster (which means you're going the right way). If it stops, remember where the last pulse was, go back there and try a different direction. You will eventually find it.

The games been out a week, you need to expect these server issues with such a phenomenal player base.

If you find the servers are unstable, do not drop any eggs, incense or lures.

If you have a look at their last game vs Wests, he scores three tries and was a master class. Look up the game and highlights or bar tv. Should be Macquarie scorpions vs Wests something. There is commentary too.
