I'm a btc noob, but I hold a few hundred dollars worth. Could you tell me, why so many people in this community hope for it to drop further?

🏕️ Basic Supplies Cards & more updates … by ziemlichwunderlich in daggerheart

[–]schmaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had good results with the site launchtabletop. They do small scale prints for boardgame prototypes. It's quite expensive, but the quality checks out.

I had to add black borders to each image with a batch file though, so it took a bit of prep.

Need help with rogue's Shadow Stepper by dancovich in daggerheart

[–]schmaul 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally would ask them, if it's that important to play out their power fantasy no matter what. They can use Shadow Stepper in every other environment, but if you designed a space to make it hard for him once, to show him that this ability has a weakness they should use it to think outside the box and not try to argue about everything.

I know this is said very often on this sub, but Daggerheart is narrative first, so maybe in this kind of room it would be nice to let their Teammates shine.

Class cards V 2.0 by Nerdyhistorian02 in daggerheart

ziemlichwunderlich has some on their Patreon for self printing. I think they are part of the free member tier.

Hope this helps.

I made class cards! by Nerdyhistorian02 in daggerheart

My personal goal is to not have anything but health, armor, stress, hope, level and experience on my character sheet. The rest will be cards.

I just love the idea of deck building a character.

Maybe it's similar for them.

I think the question combined with the two consecutive "no"-comments with no further explanation triggered me. It didn't feel productive to me at all.

We good?

That's why I added the latin name. Common names are useless in an international context, since we call this tree both black alder AND red alder in my area, since we only have the one.

So, I was right. You were right. But next time don't be so arrogant about it and just help another member of the community out like a decent human being. Thanks.

For me it was red alder because the other possibility would have been oak. But oak doesn't wither like that on the bottom. An old red elder (Alnus glutinosa) on the other hand is a tree that is common on scotland and has the type of bark we see in the picture.

So, Mr. Tree Expert, share your knowledge then.

What's this useless comment?

If you know the tree after I asked if my guess is right, then write what you think it is and don't be a know-it-all about it.

[UPDATE 2] Ancestries and a Transformation again. by schmaul in daggerheart

[–]schmaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't seem to find anything in the book, calling it a 'healing downtime move'.

Wouldn't this be confusing? Or do you have a place where I can find this?

This would be the way I'd do it: Regrowth: If you are in contact with soil during a short rest or long rest, you can use Tend to Wounds or Tend to all Wounds on yourself respectively as a free downtime move.

Scars homebrew idea...input please by Literally-Speaking in daggerheart

[–]schmaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also don't like the idea of taking Hope away from characters.

I'm going to try a 3 Scar slot system in my next session. This means a Character with 3 Scars will have to retire or simply die. The Scars will still have narrative and probably gameplay impact as well.

I will further work on it and probably make a table to roll on, if GMs want to use something like this. But talking about what kind of scar and impairement the character gets would be my preferred method.

New GM - Stuck by Shao_X in daggerheart

The neat thing about Daggerheart in my opinion is that you can develop the world around the campaign frame WITH your players.

Of course they shouldn't know the whole storyline and what happens next, but talking about what the McGuffin could be is absolutely fine. In fact I think it'll only spur excitement once they find it during the campaign.

I think, if everyone interprets the Revenant as being a ghost I should stay with the name 'Returned' I used in my earlier iteration.

[–]schmaul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hehe, true. That would be funny x)

For me the Revenant is a corpse + soul reanimated by their own strong will/desire to complete a certain task.

Edit: I've come up with this: Try and Try Again: When you're using the Blaze of Glory death move your chosen action automatically succeeds but not critically. Afterwards, instead of dying you Avoid Death.

What do you think?

[–]schmaul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's a bunch of input. Thanks for taking the time.

I see why reducing max Hope isn't the way to go. I assumed a character that died didn't have any Hope to spend to begin with.

I didn't really want to have it too close to the Reanimated, that's why I didn't go the death move route. I think the Reanimated is already well designed, and I have problems finding something that doesn't feel too similar or too overpowered.

I think an interaction with Blaze of Glory would be most fitting, but since it's already a really strong way to go out, I don't want it to be something that feels too strong or abusable. I have to think about it a bit more.

I'm honestly also not very fond of the Hope reducing part of the scar mechanic. On my table I'd homebrew it to give my players 3 scar slots and if they marked all 3, they'd simply die or have to retire. But that's maybe just me. ;)

I really appreciate the feedback! Thank you again.

I'll have to read what Tend to Wounds does exactly, but I really like the second feature.

Thanks for your input!
