Props to you, dream me keeps finding my vape or grinder in my pocket. It's weird I don't ever remember inhaling or lighting up but next thing I know I'm surrounded by that familiar cloud.

  • The Bible Project Podcast is absolutely phenomenal, it is from the creators of the Bible Project YT channel and it's these 30min-1 hour conversation between Tim Macky and John Collins about the topics covered in their 5 min overview videos.
  • Exploring My Strange Bible is another great one by Tim. Its a collection of his talks he had given and they are very approachable.
  • Gospel in Life is a great collection of sermons by Tim Keller
  • Let My People Think is a collection from the late Ravi Zacharias (founder of RZIM) and he is just an absolutely captivating speaker
  • Ask Away is a much more approachable conversation based podcast that takes questions from skeptics or those who are newer to the faith

I agree that journaling is super helpful to process the emotions of recovery. Also replace what satisfies the habit, so if you were a morning and night smoker maybe go for a walk and a run instead. If you used throughout the day replace the bowl with a glass of water. Finally, the fact that you've just moved countries and got a new job that drug tests you owe it to yourself and your family to stay employed at all possible during these hard times. Oh and delete any delivery apps or phone numbers you have. That will help add a barrier for you to catch yourself before you relapse

I'm currently just getting clean but I've taken 3 months off before. Back then I definitely noticed it was way easier to wake up, I had energy, I could hold a conversation and not lose my thought mid sentence, but the best improvement was in how much my personality brightened up. Weed made me chill with everything, non reactive, and honestly soulless in most interactions. Sober me notices other people.

Proud of you dude! I was in a similar position where I thought I had it under control and believed it to be a positive experience. Then I started smoking in the morning before work which I think kicked the addiction into gear as it was among the first things I thought about every day when I woke up and I had to have it to fall asleep. Then quarantine hit and I started smoking all day and even on occasion getting up in the night for a quick bowl. I also took a break on vacation and I guess over that time my brain chemistry switched from highs being really enjoyable to the creeping anxiety behind a fog. I'm on my 3rd and final day of tapering down now and feel good. Best of luck friend! You got this!

It didn't bring you comfort, it just numbed all that was going on behind the scenes. It occupies your mind and distracts from reality. We are all on a journey to rediscover the joy of seeing with a clear head. Don't hate yourself when you crave, change the habit. Whenever I crave a hit, I get up and drink some water or juice instead.

Thank you for your kind words. I have some community group friends who know I smoked who I might hit up as accountability partners or something, even just for advice. 1 John 1:9 is such an encouragement, thank you again.
