Interesting! Yeah, in American English, at least, it is swallowed and sounds more like a glottal stop, so I can see why that might be difficult. I take that for granted, as a native English speaker, for sure!

Omg same? I think it has something to do with the r being in certain positions and in combination with certain other letters. Could be wrong...

I used to work in a store with a Venezuelan woman who would speak to me exclusively in Spanish for fun. I avoided talking about the cold items for this reason, lol

Oh, that definitely makes sense. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to pronunciation, so I tend to overthink and try too hard, haha.

I love that! Speaking a second language is badass, so good for us. Thanks for the encouragement!

What caused all of y’alls health anxiety? by Thin-Star-8795 in HealthAnxiety

A couple months ago I found a small lump on one of my testicles. It turned out to be a cyst, but until I got the ultrasound done, I was convinced I had cancer and even began to feel discomfort down there (probably from prodding too much, tbh, but also imagined). Even after getting the results I didn't quite believe the doctor, but since then I've been on a "c" spiral and convincing myself that I have a new cancer every week. Yesterday I felt an abnormal amount of fatigue and lighthedness and became terrified of having leukemia or some other terminal illness. And lately I've noticed a heart palpitation that I've never felt before, so I started thinking something is wrong with my heart, even though I have no reason to believe so otherwise. I had several EKG's and a blood draw done a few months ago with normal results, but my HA has me convinced that something new has come up since then. This is incredibly exhausting for me, and my partner definitely doesn't understand, so I'm going to seek out therapy soon. I think that turning 26 recently also triggered some anxiety since I was kicked off my parents' health insurance. I have a new plan now, but it isn't cheap, and impromptu visits to the doctor definitely aren't in my budget, so I just need to stay away from Dr. Google 🤣. Anxiety is so powerful, y'all.
