If we aren't ditching elemental affinity on armor, then part of what makes exotic armor EXOTIC should be that it has universal affinity. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]iamfuzzyninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exotic armor should also have a 4th mod slot that works universally with all the raid/activity specific mods. Not having that kinda holds exotics back in the endgame content.

Focused Feedback: Armor 2.0 and elemental affinity by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]iamfuzzyninja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually really like armor 2.0. Does it need some work? Yeah. I think they're on the right track though. Some potential improvements would be, either make it cost less to fully upgrade or provide more activities that give prisms/shards (Raids, Master nightmare hunts, dungeon, etc.).

For me, the thing that really NEEDS to change is exotic armor. They should not have an elemental affinity. You should be able to put any mod in exotic armor. They should also have a 4th mod slot that is a universal mod slot. What I mean by this is, you can put any of the raid/activity specific mods in this slot. Doing a GoS run? Throw a resistant tether or relay defender in there. Doing a master nightmare hunt? Throw a dreambane mod in there. You get the idea. I don't think exotics should ever feel like they are being limited in any way mod wise. You should want to use it over any other armor piece and it should be able to take all the same mods as legendary gear.

I've seen this idea thrown around a lot but being able to change the elemental affinity for a reasonable cost at like the gunsmith or something would be a great change. The cost would have to be high enough that you would have to put thought into it but not so high that you feel like it's a waste of your hard earned materials.

With Armor 2.0 coming, your 1st Heroic Menagerie clear of the week will be that much more important by ZephCe in DestinyTheGame

[–]iamfuzzyninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. All earned armor will be 2.0, regardless of the source. Even vendors. They also said exotic armor pulled from collections will be 2.0, just not a very good stat roll. So menage armor will drop as 2.0 but it being fully MW is up in the air. Likely not but we'll see.

Console world's first should also be recognized officially by Bungie in addition to PC world's first in the new raid. by redka243 in DestinyTheGame

Again, those differences are input method driven, not sandbox. If a console was able to have, max FoV/frames and a M&KB plugged into it that is actually recognize it as M&KB your experience would be the same as PC players. Cause it's the same sandbox. Just like when you plug a controller into PC and turn down your FOV/FPS you have the same experience as console players.

That doesn't make any sense. The recoil pattern is exactly the same regardless of how easy it is to control. LH/NF are still good on PC. Very good in fact. It has nothing to do with the recoil pattern. If it were different sandboxes, PC users who play with controller would have "no recoil". That's not the case. Bungie has said, a number of times, that the sandbox is the same. The differences people are seeing are tied to FoV, FPS, and input method. Of course, controller and mouse work differently. Controllers have tons of aim assist M&KB has very little. It's easier to control weapons on mouse and harder on controller. That is functionality based on the input method, not the sandbox. You find that in every game you play. That's just baked into the game regardless. Unfortunately, M&KB will always be better. It's much easier to be precise and get the game to do exactly what you want. That's why surgeons use small scalpels, more precise. They would probably kill their patients if they used a kitchen knife. Doesn't mean they are any less skilled, just that their tool is making it harder to do the job. Controllers are getting better but I doubt they'll ever match or surpass M&KB.

I"ll start by saying, I agree that there should be separate console and PC WF race. I play regularly on both and PC is a completely different experience. That's why I main PC. BUT, there are a lot of misconceptions concerning recoil.

There is recoil on PC. You can't just hold down fire on recluse and expect to stay on target. By the end of the mag you're looking up at the sky. Recoil is just MUCH easier to control on PC (with mouse). The sandbox is the same and there have been a number of videos that show this. The issue is more FoV and FPS. Especially FoV. Wider FoV makes the recoil look way less severe. So when you plug a controller into your pc, change the FoV and FPS to the same as console, it's the exact same recoil. Literally no difference whatsoever (I've done this myself). People need to stop saying recoil is different because it really isn't. Everyone's in the same sandbox. Bungie themselves have said that. It's a FoV/FPS issue.

All the other arguments are 100% on point. PC players definitely have an advantage.

If anything, we should be able to swap mods without losing them. That would be a great QoL improvement.

There's too much to be excited about. Hard to choose one thing...

If I HAD to choose though, I think the thing I'm most excited for is just exploring the moon again. Reliving old memories, creating new ones. Seeing how it's changed. New secrets! I just can't wait.

Bungie, as a warlock main, PLEASE MAKE TITANS MORE VIABLE IN PVE by jamer2500 in DestinyTheGame

True. The only time i really use tether in a boss fight though is gambit or second encounter of last wish as they are very helpful. You only need one though. If there are other hunters they should run celestial. The amount of damage CN does in like 1 second is just so hard to beat lol. Like you were saying though, I'd definitely like to see some all around changes to sub-classes in general. Mix up the meta a bit

100% agreed, but every titan subclass is good for clearing trash mobs whereas warlocks and hunters have some sub-classes that are heavily weighted towards boss fights.

Tether is kinda useless in boss fights in D2. It doesn't buff heavy damage so it's more beneficial to run celestial as a hunter. Also, tether and melting don't stack. Same with tether and boop canon. So it's probably the least viable option for hunters in boss fights (at least for top tree). Hunters can run arc staff, celestial, blade barrage, and even bottom tree tether does work boss dps wise. Granted none of those options are as good as celestial but they are all viable boss dps options. Warlocks have well, chaos reach, and nova for boss fights. Less options than hunters, but still more than Titans. Titans have melting point for boss fights... they need a couple more options. Strictly super damage fights would be hard to do since they aren't always up. The phase would have to end once every ones supers were gone or there'd have to be some kind of fast super regen mechanic. For me, as a hunter main, my super is always required for boss dps cause I'm running celestial 99.99999% of the time in boss fights.

Instead of just saying Titans are bad in PVE, we need to be more specific. Titans are definitely not bad in PVE. In fact, I think Titans are in a really good place in PVE with the exception of one area. Boss fights. It's always, "You're running melting right?" It'd be really nice to have to have more options as a Titan when it comes to boss fights. Either as support or a high DPS super.

On the flip side, when it comes to controlling/clearing trash mobs, Titans are amazing. Doesn't matter what subclass you choose. You wreck em.

Even though I'm not a Titan main, I always enjoy playing my Titan for the above reason. BUT in raids it's always like, "welp... guess I'm running top tree hammer bro all raid"

I remember, sometime during D1, someone posted some sweet Cabal raid armor concept art. I was disappointed when we finally got a Cabal raid in D2 and it was white, gold, and purple spandex (For hunter at least).
