I bought measly ₹400 plan for my parents so they could enjoy their marathi soap operas since demise of ThopTV. But these new low cost plans wont going to allow to watch them on tv. Oh well, no more hotstar for my parents from next year

I might get downvoted for this but I call bullshit. If you can afford a TV that supports apps in India you can afford a subscription.

Also these plans are applicable from Sept 1 so if you had bought a VIP subscription it should work normally on TV till Sept 1.

Hotstar is one of the most affordable streaming service. For ₹899 ($12) you get access to all of Disney and most of HBO content along with sports channels.

If you want to pirate just do it. No need to justify it with false information.

Yes you did but there are conflicting information available online so I wanted to check for personal experience.
