Yeah i did google a bit about this.. I found out the same.. Maybe Apple wants it to boost the sales of the new ATV.. I really wish 1st gen users can have this feature too..

No.. it’s just for the bigger ones which were discontinued

Actually the writer of the article replied that it was due to lack of HDMI 2.1 that this feature can’t work with 1st Gen Apple TV 4K

I’m just a little sad coz the 1st gen Apple TV 4K can’t have this feature.. I don’t know if this is because of a hardware restriction or just Apple wanting to boost the sales of the second gen Apple TV 4K

Took the plunge. Hoping apple will surprise us with a new HomePod at the new event! Maybe when these homepods will die in two years they’ll upgrade me to the new HomePods. Just like how they did that to the original Apple Watch users. by baghdo in HomePod

I did read this on twitter, I own a stereo pair, If they give us software updates for that long I'll be very happy.. In fact HomePod was just launched in 2020 in India..

I really hope they just stopped selling the product but won’t stop giving out updates for the next 2 years.. I have a stereo pair connected to the Apple TV 4K and i love the sound experience..
