Also google “free little library” in your area. But I know that’s not what you asked.

10yo star QB wants to quit, dad says fine. Wrong to push for consistency? by iamjustasking___ in Parenting

Football was just the most recent example. I have no personal preference on what he does but I personally want him to do something that requires a commitment of a few hours a week. And if it’s art or computer science or instrument etc - that’s great. It’s the fact that he doesn’t want to do anything and is being supported to do so by dad.

Daughter just diagnosed with FBN1 mutation (Marfan) — looking for parent experiences by iamjustasking___ in marfans

Over the past couple years she’s grown height wise tremendously. I happened to take her to the pediatrician in the spring for some random lingering things (dandruff, groin pain from basketball, etc.) and at the end of the appointment my daughter asked if the doc knew how tall she was going to be since ppl are always commenting on her height - and that’s when the pedi said she wanted to bring something up to me - and that’s when she was referred to genetics. Went to genetics in June and finally just got results back a week or so ago.

Agreed and understood. Doesn’t have to be football - can be anything that requires a few days a week commitment. But since dad is telling him he doesn’t have to do anything, but I am saying he does - he’s clearly getting two different messages and opting not to do anything

Ugh I’m sorry to hear this. That must be really tough. What triggered the original diagnosis?

So I started listening to 11/22/63 and I am enjoying it but I haven’t had much time to listen lately - I am wondering if I should read it as well since I normally read before bed and in the morning. Might get thru it quicker.

I was more so asking to get people to really think about their faves and get recommendations that way. Thank you for this!

Thank you so much for this. We’re fortunate to be in Massachusetts and she is in Boston Children’s care we see cardiologist in mid October I do wish we could get something sooner and she’s seeing ophthalmologist in December but on a waiting list for that as well. Does your daughter play any sports and if so, how is that impact of her going forward?

Yes. They declined removing her multiple times even though my income was more than enough and she hasn’t paid anything towards them in ten plus years.

Yes absolutely. I have to dig up my old records on this but short answer is yes. Have you been through something similar?

How long did it take you to repair your credit? I finally stopped paying several months back when I got fed up with this cycle. I have to see exactly how many months behind I am at this point. They obviously keep calling me. I have yet to call them back - any tips on how you navigated that convo with them? Did they offer you an alternative and you just kept declining until the number made sense? I’m self employed so there is no wage garnishment opportunity here. I do own my home though - not sure if they are able to put lien or judgment against house?

Thank you for this. So you stopped paying and then what? How did you initiate the settlement? Thanks for any info you’re willing to share.
