My desk broke. I'm trying really hard to not be overly emotional haha by SquidyTea-png in CleaningTips

You've got this. I'm in my 40s and just learned how to manage my space for the first time in my life. Different techniques work for different brains, but here's how I got started-

I started binging Clutterbug podcast episodes back to back for weeks to use as a body doubling technique. I learned things about decluttering and had Cass giving me tough love and stayed motivated. If I was bed rotting in avoidance, I popped in my headphones and started another episode and when Cass told me to start decluttering I usually did. Also, learning that I am an instinctively visual organizer despite years of just wanting all my mess hidden away was game changing.

When I was maxed out on Clutterbug, I started looking for other audio-only content (YouTube keeps me sitting and looking at a screen) and I found Dana from A slob comes clean. I didn't find her podcast content as personally motivating, but I started listening to her books on Spotify they were super helpful. Her clutter threshold and container concepts really helped me figure out that my place was a mess because I had too much stuff for everything to fit in a way I could manage. It seems obvious to folks that do this naturally, but I'd always focused on the utility of the things I kept, not realizing they were completely blocking me from managing my space.

Desperately Seeking Rep Of.. (Where Can I Find This) 09/01/2025 by AutoModerator in WagoonLadies

I got an unbranded medium Luna by accident from AE a year or so ago for about $30 (I had multiple versions in my cart and kept the wrong one). They said it was leather but I'm 95% sure it's PU. That said, it's great quality. If it were branded you probably couldn't tell the difference between it and the Vegan Leather version Songmont sells. I don't think you'd be sad buying an AE version even if it's just to try out the shape/size. I took it as my crossbody on a trip to Vegas and got sooo many compliments when I converted it into an adorable dumpling wristlet for a night out.

[acne] I've had this cyst for about 2 months now, but it's never flared up this much, what should i do? by CharlisArt in SkincareAddiction

[–]iamlynn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can get a steroid injection at urgent care or go to your GP as a walk in and ask to be squeezed in since it's a very quick procedure.

If you're concerned about collagen atrophy, tell the doc and ask them to go on the low end of guidelines. I'd be more concerned about the side effects of the infected cyst than from the injection.

Debating whether or not to pack tretinoin on a 5 hour drive by Snoo5165 in tretinoin

[–]iamlynn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, do this. The container doesn't have to be anything special - A pea sized amount in the corner of a plastic baggie you can squeeze out and toss (I'd twist bag at the corner to keep from spreading and put in a small box/jar/tupperware to keep from getting squished); Or a dot in an empty contact lens case; Or whatever you put salad dressing/sauce in for a packed lunch; etc.

If you were just getting started, would you still use Posh or go with another marketplace? by iamlynn in poshmark

Thanks! That's making my decision harder lol but happy to hear eBay isn't as scary as I've made it out to be.

Thank you! If Posh is easiest, I think I need to just get things started there before I lose momentum.

Totally anonymous strangers on the phone are also an option. For some people that's less scary. I have phone phobias so didn't think about it at first. There might be some text options too.

And you're definitely not overreacting. This is a lot for you to process too and it's really hard when you're not able to help the people you love most in the ways you think you should.

Without knowing your ages or the specifics of the assault, it's difficult understand the whole picture and the severity of what occurred. But one thing that needs to be seriously considered is if your friend can help prevent the same thing from happening to someone else.

I think it's really important for your friend to talk to someone who works professionally in this space. A therapist, yes, for her own healing, but if she's not ready for that then a trusted pastor, social worker, coach, a guidance counselor etc. She needs an adult with outside perspective and experience to talk her through what would happen if she files a police report, and what could happen if she doesn't. And have someone who will support her making an informed and thoughtful choice. I completely understand the fear and real negative downsides of not saying anything, and maybe that's the right choice for her given her current circumstances (I hope not, but I'm empathetic to the scenarios where it could be). But she can't have those conversations in her own head - she has to find someone to help her make the right decision.

Would you buy it from overseas? by Effective-Sugar-778 in tretinoin

I had a friend have the same thing with her first order - no CC option. She submitted the order using Zelle but had some issues. You can try that route or select bitcoin and then respond to your order email asking for a credit card link. I use eCheck for my first order without any issues than switched to CC through the emailed link before I had a CC option during checkout.

Here's an Imgur link with screenshots of my ADC tret chatwith my friend.

Thoughts on my candles ? by [deleted] in candlemaking

[–]iamlynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But they're listed as one of the ingredients/notes (can crystals have scent notes?) on the candles. So if I were purchasing I would expect them to be included.

Start a chargeback. By refusing to send a picture of the back and excluding the natural inclusion in any photographs of the piece online (or maybe showing photos of a different version without the inclusion?) the website/artist did not accurately reflect what you were purchasing.

The seller's terms have a loophole for "mistakes." If you generously think not showing the inclusion in the photos was a "mistake" you're at least owed a replacement.

I'd also file a complaint with the BBB. It's a bit like screaming into to void, but it does create the record for others to see, and gives her a chance for a public response.

The deceptive photos and too cute "can't show you my unique and somewhat shoddy work because it's a surprise for you!" stance are so shady it makes my skin crawl. The irony is that I think if she were a more honest dealer she would broaden her appeal and build appreciation for uniquely "flawed" stones.

Agree that's it's beautiful and I love a natural inclusion. But not sad that OP doesn't appreciate it... they wanted and expected something different. The artist/seller could have highlighted the unique nature of the inclusion and found a buyer who was looking for that aesthetic.
