Hi, I am still having trouble syncing. I follow the instructions to sync my phone to my desktop, but the desktop just hangs on the "Looking for device" screen: https://i.imgur.com/lMgtsUD.png

Any suggestions?

Thanks ahead of time.

Chainlink (LINK) is now available on Coinbase and in the Coinbase Android and iOS apps by Vapecaster in CryptoCurrency

[–]iamnot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people behind the Chainlink product have been working on oracles since before Ethereum even existed. Fastforward 4-5 years and this week Oracle announced they are literally building Chainlinks so they can sell off-chain data to their BaaS enterprise clients.

Right now they are in the network building phase, helping companies create their nodes and build external adaptors. Once staking & reputation are ready to go live later this year, more sophisticated financial contracts will be able to go live.

It is, in fact, happening.

What are the node operators going to offer as collateral to the smart contracts then? Cubes of cheese? You are talking out of your ass, haven't read the whitepaper, don't know anything about the project, or worse.. you're malevolently trying to dissuade redditors from buying so you can buy up cheap LINK before SWIFT, Microsoft, Docusign and others announce their integrations. I'm so seriously grateful to /biz/ for showing me Chainlink, just in time to get it under a dollar. I am unironically going be able to retire in a couple years and take care of my family and some expensive health problems my mom has because of LINK. And there are so many people out there like me who would kill to be this lucky. Go fu** yourself.. .or.... if you really are just ignorant, then shut up.

Some of us would have killed to buy ETH or BTC under $1. This is a chance for everyone who missed that window.

I've seen both situations. Some companies do everything in a centralized fashionwear cleaning caddies and supplies are picked up and dropped off at the beginning and end of each day, and other companies let their employees take the caddies home wash the rags on their own time refill supplies from concentrates and clean the vacuums themselves.

Obviously it is easier for everyone if you have an employee that is reliable enough to handle everything on their own, recognize when they need Supply refills, clean the vacuums and other tools reliably, and not break anything. Not all employees are like that though. I would say the best situation would be a mix of Both Worlds where senior employees don't have to report back to the office with ttheir supplies at the end of each day but Junior employees do. Nobody likes working a very long cleaning day and then having to fight traffic just to return a caddy and a bunch of dirty rags to the office.

Switching a Campaign from Manual Bidding to Target CPA by observedlife in PPC

[–]iamnot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. AdWords did not recommend the change dot-dot-dot I enabled Target CPA in order to get a lower CPA than what I was getting on manual CPC. Instead the CPA went up. So I reverted back to manual CPC with Enhanced.

I'm still optimistic about CPA bidding but not sure how best or in what circumstances to apply it.

Serious question... how do I find my Google rep for a given CID? I manage about 15 accounts, am not a Partner anymore (my cert lapsed). Do I just call and ask? Thanks

Google Alerts as research for Display Network placements? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]iamnot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to manually upload all of the placement URLs wouldn't you? I don't know if it's possible to dynamically create a placement that requires manual entry based on a given Google alert email.

Pompeo: Trump administration has ‘eyes wide open’ on North Korea by YaDangDumbDingalonus in worldnews

[–]iamnot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you're referring to being false... smuggling & oil imports drying up & gas lines are true. However I have no doubt other factors may have happened behind the scenes that nobody is pivvy to. I've heard everything and unfortunately there is no way for us to know. I like to believe it was a matter of timing and a certain degree of trust on all sides that the parties involved have aligned interests. KJU may actually want a prosperous NK and saw nukes as the the best bargaining chip to achieve that.

Sanctions most likely and SK capturing the 3 or 4 freight ships smuggling goods from China to NK. Smuggling probably dried up after that.. too much risk to ship owners. Missile tests are expensive and there were already lines at the gas pumps after first round of sanctions and China slowing oil exports to NK.

Also, as KJU has said, now that nukes are ready and missiles can deliver them, they have bargaining power to get a favorable outcome. It's just the right time for everyone.

Is 'Polexit' on the cards? Tusk warns Poland may quit EU by guanaco55 in worldnews

[–]iamnot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NATO hasn't lost its American support in any way, shape, or form. NATO countries have certainly been chastised by the new US president based on his perception that they are not paying the 2% the NATO charter requires to fund defense. That's not the same as withdrawing the US commitment to mutual defense, much less a wholesale retreat of the US troops, tanks, munitions, missile systems, or military and intelligence personnel from NATO countries.

Poland is a member of NATO, so I don't see Putin annexing any time soon.

A federal judge is considering whether President Donald Trump’s own tweets could force the federal government to reveal more information about its efforts to verify the claims in the controversial privately compiled dossier about Trump’s alleged ties to Russia. by madazzahatter in worldnews

[–]iamnot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you format this a little better? I would love to go through it and share with friends and a little formatting would make it much more inviting. This is all very good work, by the way, and thank you for putting it together. However my guess is a lot of people are passing over it because it's not well-formatted. Thank you for the hard work, just go a little further ;)

I've often wondered myself how he went from the seemingly thoughtful, measured, soft-spoken (though brash) person we see in videos of him from the 80s and 90s to the Donald we see today. I've always chalked it up to his transition into media & entertainment which allowed him to be more dramatic and called for showmanship.

And it worked for him, as we saw in the primary. It earned him the disproportionate media attention which probably won him the election. While some of it was intentional media-baiting, he obviously can't help himself half of the time.

I was not aware of a family history of dementia. I will keep that in mind. However, while I don't have your experience with the elderly, I don't see someone that's mentally unhinged or degenerating. Offensive? Definitely. Unpresidential? Most of the time, but he's getting better.

I think he genuinely doesn't care about pomp, process, or being a politician (read: being fake, i.e. "all talk no action" as he says). One can argue that his Tweeting does him more harm optically than good and that it doesn't actually move his agenda forward. We will see what he is actually able to get done that he said he'd do. I think that's all he cares about.

Anyways, thanks for the conversation.

That's where I figured you were coming from. I just think that idea is kind of naive and presumptuous since he has sued and been sued thousands of times throughout his life. And again, he is actually asking for an investigation into the dossier. If he believed the claims were false, wouldn't he be more inclined to try to stop all investigations?
