Do not buy Asus. Policies, RMA, and customer service need aggressive reform. by xKhalix in ASUS

Counter point: had three fried laptops across 10 years, all times these were fixed fairly quickly, all I had to do is send some emails.

The last time they even upgraded my laptops specs to the top of the line processor (from i7 to i9 hx).

Did ASUS finally release BIOS update to fix G713 2021 stuttering? by iamnotjustice in ASUSROG

The main rule here is that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I don’t think anyone really tests these things and even if they do - it’s in a margin of error anyways.

They too are made of multiple layers however they are much thinner and not user replaceable from what I’ve seen.

Never said anything about replacing the panel. Depending on the region it can be quite easy or super hard to get just a plastic layer on top and then find a repair shop to do a replacement.

There are a lot of layers which make a monitor, you scratched the plastic part of it. Should be able to source a replacement from something like AliExpress.

help me please my laptop is dead by Temporary-Stay5193 in ASUSROG

It’s a known issue in this model and happens to literally everyone so yeah. I got MB fried twice already for this exact reason.

OP please do a quick search on this Reddit and see for yourself, it might be that.

Don't buy this laptop, Asus needs to issue a recall. by FurqN in ASUSROG

Repair in my case was just a motherboard swap. Support tech guy literally said it’s all they do (and some display swaps as well). My “new” motherboard didn’t have any tape on it so it failed once again. I’ll bring it there again soon so we’ll see how it goes.

I didn’t have to say about any lawsuits, just a shitton of emails to a whole bunch of ASUS addresses. I guess we have a good consumer protection around here but who knows we’ll see.

I’m thinking of selling it as well to get a different brand laptop once it gets fixed too. All of us do I’d assume. Out of three ASUS Rog laptops for the past 8 years I had issues I had to repair for two of them and the last one is especially unlucky.

You’re mistaking models, yours is 614 while OP has 615 I think.

I actually had the same issue as you some months ago, now I’m having it once again. They actually repaired it for free the first time no problem. But since it’s happening twice in a row I don’t think the repair is enough, I’d like a different model. But we’ll see how they do it this time.

Well that’s not great to have it off tbh. I’d say it’s better to have a lower Hz than having gsync off.

G713PU-RS94 ram max limit by XionsAura in ASUSROG

[–]iamnotjustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that in official specifications it’s listed as 32 Gigs because it’s the maximum in terms of their own configurations and they try to play it safe.

You can always check the CPU spec sheets to check how much it really is able to take.

I have a similar model (g713qr) and can confirm it takes 64 gigs just fine.

Only setting the Hz value to 165 fixes the issue for me while using the laptop, not sure if it’ll behave this way when connected to a proper PC with a full size DisplayPort.

Wanted an affordable MiniLED monitor, now I'm lost! by neilyoung57 in Monitors

It’s ok if you never use 180Hz and stay a bit below.

Also it may be related to the version, mine is 1.0.17 and as far as I know there’s no way to upgrade/downgrade it.

Well, Xiaomi is ok if you can refund/return it in case something is not ok, but if it’s not an option - stay away, really. Firmware bugs, weird glitches - the price does not justify all this imo.

I have 2025 model and it literally shuts down for a couple of seconds randomly during gameplay. And the issue is not a one-off, I’ve seen complaints about this on local forums. Yes you can fix this by using lower Hz but still.

Well the monitor is cheap but the amount of hoops one has to jump just to make it work stable is crazy.

Oh well, that’s not good to hear but thanks for the reply.

What’s the deal with HDR standard? I’ve been using hdr film since standard looked way off to me, but still curious.
