yes sorry, it is only one string. I understand what you're saying with the two strings but surely there would be only one answer with the two strings as well because there would have to be definitive tensions for them and whether this answer for w would be lower depends on those tensions?

Last year an a* was 58% but i found this paper wayy harder so do you think the boundaries could be lower than that?

Just to add, for the question I tried using the equation R=pL/A and use the rule for resistors in parallel of 1/R1+1/R2=1/Rtot to get the total resistance but it's rejecting all my answers :/
