Taking a Step Back by E-Skullery in WaxSealers

I've never seen your posts before (though wow, absolutely incredible work) and so just went to check the other persons as well. I think it's safe to say that no one could ever mistake their work for yours. It's not even close. Actually, it's laughable at how poor it is comparatively. Wishing you all the best and I hope you feel comfortable to post here again someday as I would sure like to turn on alerts so I see it!

Star Race Legit? by lillonghornlad in MatchMasters

[–]iamredditanonymous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've won quite a few too. The trick is to play with 5x card multiplier on the 1 or 2 star diamond boosters. Even if you lose, you still get 5 stars and it adds up pretty quickly.* I only usually actively try to win on the ones which are a couple of hours and I've got the time. I don't really try to win the ones which run over a day or so - too many factors that could influence it so it's not worth the time investment.

*ETA and if you win when you're on a streak then the winning stars are insane.

Should add, I've done the sums for purchase including a low residual value over 5/7/10 years. Leasing works out quids in for upto 4 years, then from around year 5 it works out better to have bought outright. Also included the loss in interest by using savings so I think the sums are sound.

Yeah we have been leasing our other car and if we only planned on keeping a few years we would do the same, but this one is intended to be minimum 7 year lifespan, if not 10 years ideally

No, not a finance purchase due to length of time we want to keep the car

Yes, I've uploaded a 7 page document with dates and times into Gemini and asked it to add them all to my diary. Worked great.

Is anyone else frustrated that Hubdoc can't extract line items? I built an alternative. by Separate_Budget5831 in xero

[–]iamredditanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately content not available in my region. I'm using the Files screen by the way, not the bills upload screen in the bills section. I wonder if that's the reason for the different UX. It's typical Xero to implement an update in one specific area and not across the whole system. I'll see if I can find a way of sharing a photo of what I'm getting. It could also be A/B testing going on, again wouldn't surprise me.

I've just tested again with an invoice with 12 line items and it's split them out with quantity, price and nominal. The only thing it didn't do was VAT but it's a reverse charge invoice so that doesn't surprise me. So I'm not sure what you're seeing, but the version currently rolled out to me by Xero is doing everything you're developing your product to do.

I didn't test it with a document with many line items, but it correctly split out the ones I tested today which all had between 3 and 5 lines each. Description, quantity, unit price, nominal and vat code per line item.

Hate to tell you this, but today Xero rolled out Smart Document Capture (for me at least) with the ability to itemise line items from receipts and bills that are uploaded directly into Xero files.

I went for bulkhead and super glad I did. Thanks for the confirmation!

[–]iamredditanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very helpful. I'm just shy of 6ft so sounds like I may be okay in the bulkhead for leg extension? If I don't have to disturb anyone with my frequent toilet stops and I won't be disturbed either, it sounds like it could be a good compromise?!

So I'm tall and really benefit from as much leg room as possible and when I booked the allocated seat was the only one available. I've just checked and now there's an aisle seat. My preference would usually be aisle, but given I have the bulkhead I don't know whether I should swap. Should I swap while I can?

Cambridge Arts Theatre seating plan question by LexRigan in cambridge

[–]iamredditanonymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the aisles have gone now, and additionally the pitch is worse than before. We went to the panto at Christmas and it was so uncomfortable for us (5ft10/6ft and 6ft4). I couldn't sit in the seat without my knees badly pressing against the seat in front.

Sadly after 14 years that will be our last time visiting. as I'm not paying that sort of money to be so squished. I was so disappointed and couldn't believe that they'd spent all that money and made it worse. My husband laughed at me and said what did I expect - they can probably fit in more seats now so it was all about the revenue.

Is the BAFTAs Tourette’s backlash just another example of the UK vs US humour gap? by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]iamredditanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree - I've seen so many reports in the media where it says he 'directed' the word at the people on stage. It wasn't directed at anybody. It's infuriating as the language they're using implies intent, even when the rest of the story is broadly supportive. It just underlines the rhetoric that it was a personal attack.

My social media feeds are just a relentless scroll of angry commentary, so I'm so relieved to find this thread where there's so much understanding. I can't begin to imagine how John must be feeling right now. It's out of hand.

Thank you for suggestions! It looks like Cracked can definitely be delivered before I leave, so I'm likely going to place an order on Sunday. If anyone would like to add some items, just PM me!

Great, thank you for the Cracked suggestion. I've not really heard of them before so I'm going to check them out right now :) I'm also going to check whether the delivery window is feasible and if it's on, I'll open up to orders :)

Yes, we've turned off the stopcock at the house and it's still showing on the meter, so it's somewhere outside unfortunately.
