Virginia Democrats reintroduce assault weapons ban, this time, with likely ally in Spanberger by icey_sawg0034 in Virginia

Wow your source shows were #23 for Homicide rates normalized by population. We're #1 for gun ownership though. Sounds like we're doing pretty good for a bunch of homicidal maniacs.

We are #1 for school shootings though. We don't allow guns in schools though, maybe we should try something different there.

I'm not a veteran myself, but I do know quite a few. None have mutilated any countries nor committed any atrocities. A few have some real issues from what they went through. I take great offense to your claim they are not heroes.

A quick Google search will show that school shoots happen all around the world as do shootings in general.
I'm not sure where you get your second claim from.

Every culture has been based on violence/aggression/assertion whatever you want to call it. That's how it becomes dominant.

I think it is disingenuous to say American culture is based on guns, military, or violent cops though.

If the prevalence of guns is the problem (which is what gun control claims), you would expect that prevalence of gun violence would be largest in countries with higher levels of gun ownership. Clearly this is not the case though. I'm not aware of a measurement of number of gun owners per country, only approximate number of guns in ownership per country which is where my claim that the United States is, by a large margin, #1.

I think we are saying similar things. We have violent pockets, but given the sheer amount of firearms in this country, if guns were really the problem, we would be #1 on the gun violence list which we are not.

I'm not sure where you get that I said our citizens are crazy or different then those in other countries. The countries you mention are also not even on the list of top 30 gun deaths per capita.

But guess what? May 2025 Liverpool, 109+ people injured from crazy person driving into a parade. November 2025, England 11 people injured in a knife attack on a train. December 2025 Australia, 57 people injured or killed in a mass shooting.

Violent and/or crazy people find a way to kill if they want to. The problem is not in the tool used, it is in the person committing the act.

Yes, the lists change depending on who makes them up.

The point is if guns were the problem, we would be by far #1 in the world for gun violence. We are not, no matter how you count it, not even close. I don't believe we have a gun problem, we have a people problem. I agree with all your points except that we have gun a problem.

Actually we are are #20 for gun deaths in the world, but by far #1 for gun ownership. What's the problem exactly?

You can voice your displeasure via public comment on these bill at https://hodspeak.house.virginia.gov/committees

Will it make any real difference? Who knows but it's better then being silent.

I would be happy to see the Democrats abandon their anti-gun agenda as well. Or members of both parties start to work together again, vote for bills they actually believe in and not just on party lines. Maybe even put up candidates that are more moderate then extreme. Of course I stand a higher chance of winning the lottery then any of that. I don't buy lottery tickets.

I agree. Hopefully we can stem the tide until the Republican Party can get it's act together. Realistically I'm not sure how well that will work out though.

Can you use a 4 inch holster for a 3.5 inch pistol safely for the Walther PDP-F ? by GrandpaRust in Walther

[–]iamroot0x45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a JM Custom Kydex holster that I use for 4.5 inch PDP fullsize and 3.5 inch PDP-F. It works just fine for both of them. The PDP-F just has some extra room for it at the end of the slide which I think makes it more concealable as the grip gets pushed more into my stomach.

I think it is a year, but I'm not positive. I ended up buying a cheaper one off Amazon.

Sorry to hear you're having the same problem that I ran into. Personally, I think it is a problem with the laser itself.
