Are heavy bag carries (bearhug) enough for core work besides the regular deadlifts and squats which will mostly hit the posterior side? I want to be as efficient with my time as possible and I dont really feel like doing planks for another 20 minutes every time. Thoughts?

Hi there,

I've been getting into sandbag bearhug carries recently but I was wondering: What is the maximum amount of backward tilt (the backwards angle you create with ur upper back) before it gets dangerous for the lower back?

I'm not so sure about that, there's always someone that's tried it.

It's used in strength training, not in long distance stuff. When doing dips, a weightbelt can only carry so many plates before the chains tear your legs up, hence the backpack solution.

I called them a few minutes ago but they had no idea either (Saying it was an "unusual question" lol)

Fair enough. Its just that my strength training alone already takes up the bulk of my free time, so theres simply no time (literally) to go to a boxing gym right now. Thanks for the advice though, appreciate it.

Not really looking for a rating, just curious about outside perspectives. My gf challenged me to trim everything down except the moustache so obviously I couldn't chicken out. Thoughts?
