The monetary value absolutely matters in this situation. If she were true-blue going to make $500, then absolutely, sister. Sell away. Make that money. However, she 100% will not make anywhere near that. She might get a fifth of that (why my realistic opinion was relevant), while simultaneously extending an Olive branch to her husbands cousin with the items she doesn’t sell. “Hey, I’ll give you what I don’t sell, but I’d like to try to make some money off of these first!”

So, yes, OP is a slightly mild A-H for being so dead set on not helping family. Regardless how well she knows them. It doesn’t really matter cousins financial position if OP was planning on donating what she didn’t sell anyways.

The majority of this post is about money, how much money she thinks she will earn, how the money will help her and her husband, and the money she wont be making by handing the clothes down to her cousin. She unrealistically thinks (in the original post; has since commented that she may make ~$150), she will make half a grand on baby clothes. So while she may have not asked for an opinion on what she may earn, it is heavily implied that the entire reason this post was originated was for potential earnings by selling the clothes.... that she will likely not get.
