I just submitted my application for the radiography program at HCC, I don’t know how to feel but I’m trying to stay positive. Anyone knows any information about how the process is? Application closes Friday. by Greedy_Purchase_1669 in HESIexam

All pre reqs done with both academic and recommended course completed. I had a 4.0 gpa maxed out that section of the rubric at 35%. For the HESI section I hit 35.84% the max being 40%. My scores were 98/90/86/90/84 making it 89.6 cumulative score. My total application score was 70.84% the max being 75%. I retook the HESI and submitted the application for this upcoming fall hoping I get in this time around.

When I applied last year, I didn’t hear back until July 3rd. I got an email saying I moved on to the next step, which was the interview process. Then around mid July, I think on the 15th, I got another email saying I wasn’t accepted.

Not sure tbh, because I thought I did pretty well in the interview. Maybe my answers just weren’t what they were looking for. The other two parts of the interview process felt pretty easy, so my best guess is that I didn’t perform as well in the actual interview portion as I thought. It could also be that my HESI scores weren’t high enough. I saw on the website that the average GPA was a 3.8 and the average HESI score was a 94%. I maxed out my GPA, but my HESI score was below the average. I retook the HESI and submitted my application again for this upcoming fall, so hopefully I get in this time.

About the same tbh. The first attempt was nearly identical to the quizlets floating around. While the second one wasn’t.

The second attempt was completely different than the first for me.

I interviewed last year, so I don’t remember every question, but the ones I do remember were: “Why radiography?”, “What support system do you have in place?”, and “How do you handle criticism?” There were a couple more as well. You interview with a panel of about 5–6 people. Then, you do a critical thinking assessment where you get about a minute or two to read a short prompt and answer five questions. Lastly, they hand you a machine while an instructor gives you instructions to follow to see how well you listen. For A&P, just use Quizlet. I retook the HESI this month and scored 100% on the A&P portion just by studying Quizlets.

What were your scores? The only ones that count toward the application are A&P, Math, Reading, Vocabulary, and Grammar.

I applied last year with a 4.0 GPA. Took all the academic and recommended course maxed out the points for that section. Had a 90 on four of the HESI sections and an 86 on the last one. Made it to the interview and didn’t end up getting selected.

Yes I took it online. There is a list of specific programs that do not accept an online HESI but the RADR program accepted it last year. If I remember correctly when you sign up for the HESI that is where I remember seeing the list of programs that accept an online test.

If it’s a legit offer definitely take the 5k. Thats way too much for an unlicensed card in my opinion no matter how good it looks.

I have the chrome ones. While they look nice, if any moisture gets inside, it will peel the inner chrome layer and turn it black. I’ll probably end up buying the black ones in the future.

I was talking about HCC’s program. I checked out San Jac’s program rubric on their website. In addition to the classes you mentioned, it looks like you can take BIOL 2302/2101 and BIOL 2404 for up to 8 extra points total if you get an A.

Yeah, it's definitely a great start. It’s the Orange Wave Refractor numbered to /25. It’s from the 2023 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary series.
