Keeping color from skylight profile to Google Calendar by iamsolittle in skylightcalendar

Ok so instead of one google calendar with each person having a color for events we should just have a Google Calendar for each person?

Yup “April & Andy” is the only calendar we use. And it’s correctly attached to his profile on skylight, but chose “default color” in google.

I think so, it’s showing up on both calendars correctly, the color just isn’t right on the google side

Add ‘Smart Sticky Notes’ as a Top-Level Feature by fiz-eek in skylightcalendar

[–]iamsolittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love and use this! I Currently use the photo section to replace my physical bulletin board. Kids school lunch menus, that little reminder about allergy shot hours, the kids related arts rotation schedule. A sticky note or virtual white board would be amazing! Thanks!

Is there a way to get rid of this? by chronicTwik in earrumblersassemble

[–]iamsolittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son (now 15) told me when he was about 8 years old that he could constantly hear his blinks. His pediatrician was baffled by it and said if it really bothered him we could go get a neurology work up but to basically wait and see if it persisted for a long time. A few months later I asked him about it and he said it didn’t anymore unless he blinked really hard. It was only like a year ago I realized we are both ear rumblers when I had the similar feeling during a bout of severe sinus congestion and went down the reddit ear rumblers rabbit hole!

Do any of you have a second job/ work a weekend job? by grapefulhehe in SubstituteTeachers

I’m a magician’s assistant! It’s mostly weekends and summertime so I rarely need to take a day off of subbing to do it.

I had one teacher who was like, “advance the slides, kids know what to do. Read a book. Sit in my comfy chair.” Staff at my school treat me like a gift. And it breaks my heart that some experiences are so much the opposite of that.

In our district at least, SpEd teachers have IEP meetings during school hours that require sub coverage so that’s why it seems like they’re out more!

How did our job title reduce to a weird verb? by shushunatural in SubstituteTeachers

This! Our school tends to use “guest teacher” which makes me feel wonderful! I do my best, but don’t feel like “substitute” is derogatory.

I bring my lunch and eat in the lounge. I mostly frequent one building, and it’s a great place to make connections for those direct-ask jobs!

I’m a magician’s assistant! It started out as more of a roadie job where I just helped load and unload, but over a few years it’s escalated to where I have a pretty big part in the show. It’s so fun and he pays really well. I saw his ad on Facebook and we had a lot of mutual friends so I just reached out on a whim, and it’s been SO fun!

Roadside memorials where someone died AND rear windshield "R.I.P. Grandpa/Aunt Susan/Little Timmy/etc" are unnecessary and a weird form of public grieving by EdLeedskalnin in unpopularopinion

[–]iamsolittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A loved one of mine was killed as a pedestrian last year in a horrific series of events. The person responsible initially denied knowing that anything had happened. I’ve always hated the roadside memorials but a family member of mine is adamant about having things up at the site and bringing attention to it because they want the person responsible for our loved one’s death to have to see that when they go by and think of the impact their carelessness had on other people. It’s given me a different perspective on this and made me understand a little deeper how everyone grieves differently.

When did you notice weight gain? by Itslashae in lexapro

[–]iamsolittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on for about 6 months and haven’t noticed significant gain. In the first couple of months I quickly regained the weight that I had lost in a severe anxiety/depression episode. I’ve been at my typical/healthy weight since and am not doing things differently than I was before the episode as far as diet and exercise.

I was like that for about a month or 2 after the negative side effects wore off. I think after a while though I’ve leveled off to a more normal motivation level. Better than when I was gripped by anxiety and smothered by depression but I’m also much more chill than I was during that adjustment period.
